Answered already on your duplicate thread. This thread is from 2010.
Ocean Finance are not "registered" with anyone who might assist in a PPI complaint.
If your PPI was purchased before 2005 it's game over as there is no one to complain to.0 -
Evening all, sorry to drag this thread up again but I have applied for a refund from Ocean Finance (using resolver) and they ahve come back stating the loan was brokered by the old company which has since ceased trading. The loan and PPI were taken out late 2007/early 2008 so should be regulated. the have said I should try the FCA compensation scheme. Has any one tried this route?0

FSCS you need to go to.

Has any one had any sucsess or pointers for going down this route?0

If it's pre-2005 no, after 2005 complain to the FSCS as above.
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

I am currently handling a PPI claim for a relative with Ocean Finance from 2006 with the FSCS. It's been made recently following the sudden death of her partner.
It was about £1500 on a £12k loan with Together (previously Blenheim).
Long story but this loan still has £25k pending! due to late/non-payment. I suggested extortion & to look at their figures. That's when I noticed the PPI was charged & began the claim.
Last week we had a reply from Together.
Although the PPI claim itself is still pending with the FSCS, Together have recalculated their PPI commission.
They are refunding commission where commission exceeds 50% of the premium paid - this is just over £300, but with interest, & historic charges, it will knock almost £8k off the £25k pending!
(I still question Together's moral principle's on pursuing the whole of this joint debt from the surviving partner - but that's another argument).
Maybe this PPI commission would be a tactic to help other people.

.
It's not a "tactic".
Your circumstance (£25K still owing) is very unique0
