    Hi

I believe there have been a few to what I can recall.

If you were mis sold by this company, then you can follow the guidelines of reclaiming below, a reclaiming questionnaire replaced the template letter.....

Keep copies of all you send and receive in case you need to refer to it at some point.

    Good luck.

    Still no feedback then?

Are you on to these yourself now hon?
Good luck if you've already started making a reclaim, please keep us posted, cheers.

Think there was bit of a write up which included these on the link posted below that was posted in the news section in 2010.

    Hiya

So sorry there have not been further posts to this one.
There have been much success via FP, but I take it the broker of this loan was OR wasn't it?

Don't know if this link from CAG will be of any help, unless you have already posted on that site of course lol.

Hi, have faith, we have had success reclaiming PPI from Ocean Finance. They often make offers that are not in line with the FOS guidelines though, so be careful before accepting an offer. It might be worth continuing on to the FOS.

Ben - helping out where he can

Hey Ben ... thanks for taking the time to write. A couple of questions:

Can you expand a bit on the comment 'they ofter make offer that are not in line with the fos guidelines?' and how long did your claim take and also did you make an offer relative to how much your premiums were. I'm just starting the process so all advice welcome. Thanks!

Hi there, people have won with FP and ocean and welcome etc, and it is because the ppi is front loaded, but when you get this ppi you are not told the whole truth about how this works. If they had told you "this ppi is x amount and it will be added to your loan and you will pay interest over the whole term on this, but the ppi only covers you for 5 years but you still pay this back over the remaining term of the loan with interest". Hands up anyone on here who has a front loaded ppi that were told this. NO ONE!!!!!!!. Get a claim in now, and watch for any figures they give you if you win, you can post them on here and Robbedof or Marshalka will be only too happy to help .
  • Hi Interesting posts, thank you guys! So the loan was arranged via broker Ocean Finance with First Plus. So having written to FP they say OF are responsible for looking into this matter. OF also wrote stating they require signed Authority from me to look into this matter and request details from FP & Barclays Insurance (Dublin) ... so now I'm confused. Should I be claiming from FP & just ignore OF's requests? FP appear to be passing the buck?

    Hiya

They do make it sound confusing by the seems of it, but if OF was the ones who sold and arranged your account its them responsible, you could ask the FOS for some advice on this and see what they have to say as well if you want to.

    Good luck.;)

Hello, thank you for taking the time to respond. I have indeed called the FOS and it is OF i must deal with as they "sold" the loan.

I am interested to find out if anyone else has had an experience with OF in relation to this matter.?

  • I had a loan with OF and have tried through 2 different companies to try and claim back PPI but have had no luck. Would be very interested to see if anyone has succesfully claimed back PPI from Ocean.
