Clear anything i have downloaded

Hi

I have just been scammed out of some money, my own fault, my husband used my card as well.

Been informed on another thread, whilst asking questions about it, to come on here and ask about clearing anything we have downloaded.

I have phoned my credit card company and had my card stopped, they have also given me a number to ring on Monday (fraud) to try and claim my money back. Hopefully.

Thank you

I'm sorry, I don't understand the question. What is it that you are likely to have downloaded? Do you use internet banking? Visit dubious websites? Save your credit card and banking information unencrypted on your PC? Do you think you have a virus or trojan on your PC?

    More clues needed, please!

my husband used my card as well.

Yes well, never trust your husband ;)

So are you thinking you were scammed via your computer and that's how they got hold of your card details?

If so follow these instructions (courtesy of aliEnRIK)

Download MALWAREBYTES (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_ma..._anti_malware/
Open malwarebytes and goto UPDATE and click 'check for updates'. After its updated goto SCANNER and click PERFORM QUICK SCAN then click SCAN
Remove everything thats found (needs to be ticked)
Post the COMPLETE log here AFTER youve deleted everything it finds
If anything was found then do the exact same but run a FULL scan

    reboot

Download HIJACK THIS (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_hijackthis/
Click MAIN MENU then DO A SYSTEM SCAN AND SAVE A LOGFILE(Takes seconds) then post the log so we can see whats running
(do NOT do anything else with Hijack but scan and post the FULL log)
If you get a message that you cant write to the hosts file then Press the SHIFT key, and whilst holding it RIGHT CLICK and select RUN AS (admin)

Still worth following the instructions just in case something nasty was downloaded onto your computer.

So is it just the £24 and card details you have given or has more money been taken from your card?
  • how did you actually pay? did you enter your card details on their site, or use paypal etc..?

It does say on the site............

Automated Wealth Package has a 100% RISK FREE GUARANTEE. As a result of this, you can literally try out Automated Wealth Package for FREE as you have the safety net of asking for a refund should it not be for you! If you are completely satisfied with Automated Wealth Package, you can ask for a FULL refund with no questions asked within 60 days of your purchase.

Have you asked for a refund first?

Not saying you will but worth trying.

Thought they wouldn't but the CC company (if they made payment using a CC card) might ask if they tried first.
Although can you do a chargeback for £24?

I paid my £24 by PayPal and my husband paid £12 and used my credit card on their site. I have spoken to my bank and they have given me a number to ring on Monday re Fraud,

I have also spoken to PayPal and the lady showed me how to fill the form in re getting my money back because I haven't received any goods. I don't know if i have to do anything else on PayPal because it says i must try and get the money back from the site, but there is no link to get in touch with them.
