    Hi

Does anyone know if my husband needs to do anything with the log i have sent, it's post number 45
    Looks clean to me.

Prob best that he uninstalls either the Yahoo toolbar or the Google toolbar, there's no need to have both, and they may conflict with each other or cause slowdowns. Plus run the reg cleaner on CCleaner, it looks like AVG wasn't cleanly uninstalled before installing Avast and the computer is still expecting to find some of its missing dlls. Ccleaner should be able to tidy things up.

  • These schemes contiinues as long as peoples greed goes before their sanity. Always, if something is free, going to make your millions of pounds, it is not.

When screen says 'Enter your card details' the off button is normally located in the lower third of your tower, lapttons may vary. Hold this for 8 seconds. This should prevent you from entering details.

To prevent a recurrence happening, it is wise to perform a boot on your computer, thus:

Take a hard sturdy piece of foot wear and place on your foot. Un hook pc from any power source and drop towards foot, and kick when PC gets near. This will fully boot your pc.

    This should solve the problems.

As for the card transaction, one gathers that it was under £100 and 'authorised', as such, I doubt cancelling the card after the evnt will prevent the charge from being taken. I doubt even if you complain to the FSA, that OP would get their money back. Just be carefull this is not a continuous authorisation.

I assume this wealth management site to be some legit entity, possibly trading in another part of the world!

    Your computer -
    Please run COMBOFIX
    http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe
    Shut down your anti virus
Follow the simple instructions it gives
Post the COMPLETE log it creates here (Split into sections if need be) ~ if there are loads of 'SNAPSHOT' pages then leave them out

If it comes up with a RENAMING error then RIGHT click the exe file and RENAME and call it QWERTY (Making the complete file name 'QWERTY.exe') Or SAVE as 'QWERTY' on download
(If no log comes up or you lose it, COMBOFIX.TXT can be found in C drive)

I asked you to run the above as your computer has (had) trojans

This means theres a good chance its still infected
