Botched termination-urgent help!

There may be a pregnancy crisis centre near you which could support her at this time. I know that we have one in Bristol where anyone can talk through things at any stage - from the "Help I'm pregnant and I don't want to be" to "I had an abortion and now I regret it". The GP or midwife would be good people to ask about this. I am sure they would give support through a worrying pregnancy.

What an ordeal
please send her hugs from me xxx
I really hope things get better for her soon0 -
I found this stat on surgical termination:
Over 99% successful. Less than 1% of the time it fails and needs to be repeated.
Unfortunately I really do think is will be covered by the consent form. She will be full of emotions just now and must be a very difficult time. I had a friend who fell pregnant on the contraceptive injection, the hosp thought it may affect the baby, but the baby was born 100% healthy... My thoughts are with your friend.0 -

What a terrible situation to be in - I'll be praying that she can get the support she needs and that she and the baby remain healthy. The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.0

She doesn't need to sue if she wants answers.
My dad used to volunteer as an adjudicator for NHS disputes. The aim was to work out what went wrong, why, and stop it happening again- surely the most important thing to do?
*Sometimes* there is cash; sometimes not.
He also said the toughest cases were when someone died and the family just couldn't accept it - they needed someone to blame... even where there was no negigence.

There was a woman here in Scotland who tried to sue but failed, after she had a failed termination.
tbh,all I could think of when reading it was- how is that woman's child going to feel reading that when he is older, and knowing he was unwanted, and she tried to get money out of the fact she hadn't wanted him? Even if he doesn't see the article he will be told in the playground his mummy didn't want him.So sad. These cases do happen. There are risks.
I understand completely that your friend is in a slightly different situation, but I feel that,as in many things in this life, some things are just meant to happen, and they happen for a reason. I speak as the mother of a daughter born while I was on the pill and declaring I didn't intend having any kids.I haven't managed to have any more kids-did someone/thing somewhere want this to happen before my time ran out??
I'd help her concentrate on the positive side of this event- what's done is done, and if she looks on it as a second chance at deciding to keep the baby she may feel less distraught.
I do hope she feels better soon, she's lucky to have a friend like you who cares for her.Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

I think it is wrong to sue the NHS it is a public service. The same people who sue will complain about lack of funding...Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

I am sad for your friend as i am sure she went for the termination for all the right reasons. I hope one day soon she is happy it didnt work.Too may women go for terminations because they cant see any other way out. Many have problems dealing with it after.I hope she gets all the support she needs to go forward. If that baby is meant to be it will be. give her a hug from me.“Love yourself first and everything else falls into line.
