I have to say that I really get annoyed with the amount of bags that are used. They use twice the amount I would. This does not sit with all the hoo haa they make about charging for bags to stop US wasting them.

They have to cater for the lowest common denominator. In this case it's the people who like to keep certain items separate.

If they filled one bag before getting another, we would have people in here complaining they put packets of sliced ham in with the shampoo and bleach in the same bag as the tinned beans.

They can't win either way, but think it's better to have people complain they used too many bags than have people complain they may have contaminated a tin of beans by putting in the same bag as a bottle of bleach.

    Okay, 2 things.
There is an option on the site to have your shopping delivered without bags..it's a green issue. I think maybe this option is automatic & you need to check the box that says delivery with bags. You may have got one or two, possibly items that if they leak, like conditioner etc, would spoil food items so they will often pop them into a bag on their own.

I agree with you though, I once tried the without bags option...never again. :D

As for the errors....there should be a telephone number at the top of your delivery note. If you give them a ring they will refund you. I know mistakes shouldn't happen, but if they do, I've always found them apologetic & quick to refund.

Yes there is an option but the default has the deliver with bags box ticked which I would always choose

Understand what you are saying about spillages etc as they normally wrapped the bleach in two bags but last night it was loose in with everything else rolls, baps, toothpaste, conditioner etc
it was just a mess all random items piled in crates ...

If I havent received a reply by Monday I will call them just was too angry last night and it was late.

Can I join the rant pls? Just had a delivery from ASDA supposed to be b& j ice cream 2 for £3 and because the store that picks the order had finished the offer I had to pay £8.38 for 2 pots of it! I went to the store and complained and they said that I have to pay it cos it says on the website you have to pay the price instore on the day I am livid! I would never pay 4.18 for a pot of ice cream I have tried to phone the website but they just don't answer and all the time it costs you 5p a min for it! I will never have another damn delivery from any of the damn stores I really feel as if we are being ripped off by them and I include Tesco in that looks like it's time for me to find another store.

I would write to their customer services ... tell them to ask the driver to knock next time he is in the area and take it back as you do not want it (providing you haven't already taken it back already)
Anne Robinson would have a field day on this one ....
    I would be furious aswell....

Pickers shop for up to 6 people at a time, they will be given a section to do - i.e someone does fresh another frozen etc and then all the shopping is taken out the back and sorted.

They put 1 or 2 items into a shopping bag so they can be sorted into the different orders before being loaded onto the van.

So if you ordered a bottle of the same shampoo as I did to be delivered in the same time slot, the picker will put a bottle in a carrier bag for you and then a bottle in a bag for me.

They will refuse because it is up to you to check your order before you sign for it. As soon as you sign on the dotted line you are accepting that you are happy with the order as seen, and before you scream DSR's, they don't cover grocery orders.

It is VERY clear on supermarket shopping sites that you pay the price on day of delivery, so it is up to you to check that the offer is still running on your selected day.

Anne Robinson would just tell you to stop being dense, she's not there to hold the hands of the terminally stupid.

I rapidly gave up with home delivery as they either substituted with items I would never have picked or have given me half of someone elses shopping and not delivered the items I really needed. Have they never heard of stock control?
Supermarkets need to change their way of doing things IMO.
Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)
