Tesco .. Make sure you check your bill and where are the bags !

 I am so angry .... please please check your receipts on line and in store, it may only work out they have overcharged you a couple of pounds but why should they have it ... I have just emailed them the following as am furious :mad: and in a foul mood as spent 12 hours trying to get Take That tickets with no luck so not in the best of moods but even so I think I am in my right to be
and dont get me started on the bags ... what is it with them and one item in a bag ....

Dear Sirs

I have just taken delivery of my order and am not best please that my shopping was delivered without bags all apart from a few random items that were bagged.

Due to the rain, everything I had was wet and my hallway looked like I had tipped the shopping trolley up and over the floor by the time the crates had been emptied. I then had to wipe everything I had before storing it away, just what I could do without at 10 to 10 at night.

The driver said he believed you were short on bags ... well perhaps if the picker did not place one bottle of conditioner in a bag on its own, maybe you would have enough to go around. This is a regular occurance, its normally half a cucumber in a bag on its own or a tin of soup.

This is unacceptable and after I had put the shopping away, wiped all my kitchen sides down and wiped the floor I checked my bill .... and am outaged that the following prices have been charged in error . I have checked the web site and they are definately wrong as still on offer

Dr Pepper 3 for £3.00 - I have been charged £1.66 a bottle

2 x Dove conditioner should be £1 each charged £2.37 each
2 x Dove shampoo - given conditioner in error should be £1 each again charged £2.37 each
so ended up with 4 bottles of conditioner at full price and no shampoo.

Please advise me on why my shopping arrived with minimal bags and why are you charging me full price... I wonder how many times this has happened in the past as I do not normally thoroughly check my bill. I am loosing all confidence in shopping at Tesco

I look forward to your prompt reponse

I hate Tesco, I always check my receipt as even instore they try to rob you of sneaky efin pennies. I only buy a few bits and bobs there now occasionally, so can easily remember what the prices said on the shelf, and I even make sure I'm getting value for money with larger items etc, as numerous times its actually been cheaper buying 2 of say 250ml products rather than getting a 500ml 'bumper saver' etc.

Hate em with a passion, trying so hard to not get much from them now.

    Robbers they are...

i have just looked at their web site and i think they have technical issues.

It most certainly says the offers you ahve described (get screen shots)

With the dove whilst the advertising says it should be £1 the price is scanning at 2.37.

If this was in store your would get DTD but as its on line you will end up with a refund maybe.

  • I have to say that I really get annoyed with the amount of bags that are used. They use twice the amount I would. This does not sit with all the hoo haa they make about charging for bags to stop US wasting them.

I've had some lucky wins with dtd and have never had a T home delivery but I'd been furious too if overcharged. It's the waste of time as much as the money.
Re the bags, they are all bag misers nowaday, I have a flexible rubber trug thingy ready for my Asda crates contents to go in. I guess laundry baskets would do too. Gets it in to the kitchen quicker.

They had better refund me I am that mad I will take the items back to the store and demand it ha ha ... not a happy bunny... if you hover over the prices on line or click the item it shows they should be £1 each,, i bought them last week and they charged me £1 ,,, thought I would stock up as it seemed like a bargain ..
I am sure they will call me tomorrow or Monday as I had an issue with the extra 500 points on tesco direct and wrote to them and a guy called me and issued them straight away ... now I sound like a right ol moaner  but its my money and they make enough out of us customers as it is and they are getting dearer and dearer
Oh and to think I gave them a load of bags back last week aswell :(

i once had a bottle of beer wrapped in 4 carrier bags, i ask you!

don't like tesco home delivery at all, too much hassle sorting out their mistakes and then going shopping for the things that are oos, usually exotic items like potatoes and bread

  • Okay, 2 things.
There is an option on the site to have your shopping delivered without bags..it's a green issue. I think maybe this option is automatic & you need to check the box that says delivery with bags. You may have got one or two, possibly items that if they leak, like conditioner etc, would spoil food items so they will often pop them into a bag on their own.

I agree with you though, I once tried the without bags option...never again. :D

As for the errors....there should be a telephone number at the top of your delivery note. If you give them a ring they will refund you. I know mistakes shouldn't happen, but if they do, I've always found them apologetic & quick to refund.
  • Maybe there is a national bag shortage within tesco, i had my shopping delivered this morning all in the blue tesco bags which are supposed to be for items that have been substituted, the driver apologized and said they were low on bags, most of my shopping was in bags apart from a few tins/bottle of pop. I did however have a few bags with 1 item in, like some bread muffins were on their own and the bread and crumpets were loose, i said to driver its very odd putting one thing in a bag isn't it, he just said 'ah it the way they do the packing love' lol he was a nice friendly guy and i didnt mind he put them loose items into the bags for me which made it easier for me to carry. As far as I can see all the offers and specials purchases have gone through on my bill. I think the option to have bagged or unbagged shopping could be a bit more highlighted on their website though as i nearly missed checking the other box to have it all bagged.

I make my delivery guy wait, as he loads it into the hallway, I carry it through to my kitchen, the one time he brought it without bags I went to my kitchen grabbed a handful and then passed them to him to unload into - he wasnt best pleased, but I refuse to end up with my hallway looking like the reject pile in Tesco. The store is just as bad, last time I went in the checkout person didnt say a single word to me, started scanning as I was unloading and by the time I got to the other end there was a mountain of food piled high, they didnt even have enough space to scan properly. They didnt offer any bags. They didnt offer to help pack and then on the very last item she picked it up to put in the bag, that was the point that I lost it. I had a bit of a rant, about customer service and their crappy carrier bags, as I was doing this the bag I lifted split and contents spilled everywhere. No apology just a sulky looking teenager glaring at me.

I vowed never to shop there again, lasted about 2 days!
