You do realise that there is a £9.50 fitting charge per tyre, although that is still a fair price.
And probably a fee for balancing too.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

The same Michelin tyres you 1st suggested.
Eco or something? i forgot now lol. Ahhhh energy saver..
Yokohama's Less than £50 and Khumo's for less than £40.
Continental Eco Contact 3 £57.76 each These get decent reviews on most forums.
May try them myself next time, But my tyres are double the price of yoursCensorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
sorry but is that good or bad? and which tyres wear more- front or rear?
Fronts wear more as it is front wheel drive - IMHO it's shocking that a low powered, lightweight car should get through a pair of front tyres in less than 10,000 miles.
I drive much heavier, much more powerful diesel cars and front tyres last a minimum of 15,000 miles.
Vredestein are excellent mid priced tyres, but if Michelins can be had for only slightly more go for them due to an offer.0 -
Conti Eco Contact 3s are made of licorice - our low mileage Aygo has gone through a set of four, which have been rotated, in 12,000 miles. Without rotating the fronts would have done about 8,000 miles.
I'm sure this is what's on the hired Corsa I have at the moment and after 12,000 hired miles they've plenty of life in them yet (can't say the same for the suspension )0 -
Are the Quik-fit prices quoted before VAT maybe?0

I know you said you wanted brand names, but IMHO that makes no sense at all, especially given your low annual mileage and your no doubt good/careful driving habits.
If I'm buying a new tyre, I always phone around and go for the cheapest new tyres on offer usually about £26 per tyre all inclusive.
EDIT: The central London thing might be a sticking point to getting a good deal, I would get the yellow pages out and phone a few.0 -
