ok i know kwik-fit are not great, but i need 2 new tyres.

i was thinking of going for michelin and saw them on kwik-fit website for around £61 each fitted. (175/70T14). blackcircle have these for almost £78 each.

can i get any feedback on using these tyres or using kwik-fit for tyres only? other options are Dunlop SP Sport 1 or Continental Eco Contact 3.

i have had a lot of look online but everyone seems to be saying something different. so i want to go for safer option and go for a branded tyre...

if it matters, i drive honda civic, 1.4, 5 door, 02 reg. I do about 7000 miles a year. i dont have membership of costco and live in central london so not too many cheap indy garages around me...

Conti Eco Contact 3s are made of licorice - our low mileage Aygo has gone through a set of four, which have been rotated, in 12,000 miles. Without rotating the fronts would have done about 8,000 miles.

You do realise that there is a £9.50 fitting charge per tyre, although that is still a fair price.

yeah i know(plus £2/3 for disposal as well)
  • That's a fair price for fitted Michelins.

You could search around and get equally good and arguably better alternatives....Vredestein, Uniroyal etc from internet (Camskills, Mytyres etc) but you'd need a tame fitter to make any saving worth the messing about.

If you only do 7000 PA i would go for a mid range tyre only if you do lots of milage or lots of motorway miles would a top end tyre like a michelin be worth the extra.

£71.45 each on kwikfit website if you book and pay online.

    £69.11 on blackcircles website.

    Etyres are a bit dearer.
