I have now got my pac and am going to go into town tommorrow and buy a PAYG chip from Orange. Does anyone know if orange or any other providers have a minimum period for which i have to keep mu number with them on PAYG, or is it just a simple case of being able to port it straight out once it has been ported to orange or anyother network?
I don't know about Orange but o2 and Virgin allow you to port in and port out within a few days.

Does this definetley mean that my old contract with t mobile expires when the pac code is activated by a new provider on a PAYG?

  • I can't imagine how T Mobile can be so choosy on their customer base. I've found their coverage to be terrible & wouldn't touch them with a bargepole.
  • hi,
I've also just phoned T-mobile to ask for my Pac code. I've been with them for 6 years, spending between £30 and £60 per month. They offered me a deal of 250 anytime mins and 200 texts for £21 pcm with a Nokia 6131/6230i or6111.

I told them I had been offered 500 mins cross network anytime + 250 extra landline mins + 250 texts with Orange on a 12 month contract. Its a redemption contract , working out at £17.50 per month after the redemption (£35 pcm before).

They didnt seem to care about keeping me as a customer and handed over the PAC number with no problem at all...

Won't miss their customer service thats for sure!

Why is this mobile phone tariff thing so complicated!!?!

I've just ported out my last line from t-mobile to o2 PAYG till I find a good phone/cashback deal.
I thought I'd have a look online and see how many mins/allowance was remaining when the number was ported see if there are any call charges for this month and guess what they've locked my access to "my t-mobile" so I can't check anything online now.
Not all the networks are like this as I still have access to online billing with o2 on contracts finished months ago!

I have been with T Mobile for a few years now and also threatened to leave, I was happy with the phone I had so in the end they offered me 300 of peak calls any network and 30 free texts a month for £5.01 a month. If I need to use the phone during peak time I just put credit on the phone. As I do not make too many calls peak time in the last 6months I have put about £30 credit on the phone. I accepted this deal as it suited me.-

  • At the moment I think you'd struggle to beat a T-Mobile FlexT tariff, I have excellent coverage around the South East, and customer service is second to none, having come from both Orange and O2.

You can get any PAYG sim, port out to it, then port back in at leisure, though for a fiver a month, it's a lot of aggravation.
