Someone hit my car
Comments
-
I just had my car checked out, my friend a mechanic said that I need a new front wing, it cant be patched up so I am looking at around £60-£100 for front wing/paint and time.
Police came and they were really understanding although they did come at 9am Sunday morning. They told us if they had some evidence part number plate, car etc they do there best but so far no one has come forward.
My friend said whoever did this, they knew what they had done, they didnt have wack my car so he said.
So now I will no longer park on my street and thanks to this low life I will find it a little harder pushing her around the corner to the street where I will park.0 -
Why buy a new wing costing £100 for a car only worth a few hundred?0
-
Because a new car may have problems with it and I have spent quiet abit on this car when I first bought it, like new clutch, the thing that charges batteries up. Also its was very good condition and look after it.
The car and would cost me over £500 to get it replaced and cant afford a new car anyhow, so why not.0 -
Get it patched/ painted over and live with it. As soon as you get it repaired some turd will nick the car anyway. Think of it as adding a little character to your car0
-
You have missed my point.
I didnt say buy a new car I said it is a waste spending £100 getting it fixed if the car is only worth a few hundred.
I would just paint a flower over the dent and live with it.0 -
Its too big an area and its the entire length of the front wing and the dint is quiet deep its in a area that the wing splits off at different angles so its harder to do a cosmetic job. Even filling it wouldnt do it just wouldnt look right.
I knew what you meant, I meant a new car to me not as brand new but 2nd hand.
I am very careful how the car is parked normally, I park very close to the kerb and I have it locked by steering wheel.0 -
Doesn't sound like the main problem is the car; it's the straw- camel's back job. You sound so unhappy where you are and want to get out of that area. That sounds like a good idea, if it makes you feel happier and more secure.
If the car is ok and won't rust up from the dent to be unusable, wouldn't the £100 be better off being put towards moving?
I am so sorry about how you feel and what happened. all the best.

Yes I am unhappy, despressed in fact its just another kick in the teeth for me having the car damaged then my daughters problems.
I am moving forward and am looking at houses tommorow I no how much I can borrow whilst it may not be what I wanted at least I can still afford pay for another morgage and I will get a lovely area/house.
Thanks anyhow
I often use the same expression as you " Bad things always happen to good people - and the real b*stards are rich and live to be 100!!!!"
Thanks for all your responses.pigeonpie wrote:Doesn't sound like the main problem is the car; it's the straw- camel's back job. You sound so unhappy where you are and want to get out of that area. That sounds like a good idea, if it makes you feel happier and more secure.

This really p*sses me off, Ok I was in a small bump on the motorway someone cut me up but didnt have enough space and clipped my front wing, £500 excess so it wasnt worth claiming I paid for it to be sorted.
I parked up over the road from our house and some one hit the same corner so I decided to leave it, the other week parked in a similar place but facing the other way and some one hit the back corner now. that really p*ssed me off. The worse bit is I now need to get both corners repaired before the lease company can have it back at the end of the week. With all the scratches from kids with keys ect It is going in for pretty much a respray on wednesday as a rush job.
It made me think twice about buying another car myself but I am getting a nice car hopfully Wednesday it will be ready.0 -
The best advice so far has been to do a diy repair and live with it. Your Diy repair can be as advanced or as simple as your talents will allow, you could for example spend a whole day sanding down, applying rust eater acid if reqd, applying filler, sanding down applying undercoat, applying 2 coats of paint etc etc
OR
Sand it down apply zinc sulphate undercoat, apply 2 top coats of paint and paint a flower if req'd.
Personally I like seeing cars with flowers painted on them. It tells you something about the owner.0
