christmas pudding recipes?

I think I just used extra Guiness or whatever it was I used!

One of my books says cook a 2.5 pint pudding on high for 7-8 hours, another says a 1.75 pt pud on high for 12 hours - different recipes but it seems a bit weird! I usually leave mine on overnight, making sure there's plenty of water in before I go to bed. (half to two thirds of the way up the sides of the pudding bowl) Not sure I recommend that unless you're confident though.

Btw I reheat mine in the slow cooker, too - anywhere from 2.5 to 4 hours. It saves steaming the kitchen up & saves a gas ring, too.

Thank you for the slow cooker info. I'm going to have a go at Delia's recipe today & "steam" in the slow cooker for a number of hours. I'll just play it by ear but the advice given does give me something to work to.

i used delias but put it in the slow cooker and didnt like the end result, a bit soft and slightly bitter tasting,maybe overcooked it?
m & s half price for me this year im afraid!
