Well thats all the celebrations over with I hope everyone had an enjoyable time over the festive period. I had a really good time this year the best in a long time. Now back on the CFR bandwagon. Have a small amount in the freezer to use up and still have that heap of pasta from before lol so will try and use up what i have before i buy more stuff. Will have to get some fruit and veg but hopefully thats about all. Look forward to hearing about everyone elses time and how they are going to save over January/rest of year xx

glad you had such a good time Shanks, nice to hear

I am trying, yet again, to use my freezer and store cupboard supplies. I have written down everything and will try and concentrate on using what we have. I have lots of beans and lentils, almost you name it, I have them. So will be doing beany curries and such like, the lentils go in the soup we have most lunchtimes, sweetcorn fritters, veg stew and dumplings, have 2 steaks and 2 small bits of pork in the freezer, so that's Sunday roasts sorted, also have a couple of small bags stewing beef, so that's several casseroles, quorn in the hole, quorn 'meat' balls in tom sauce, and yes, several pasta meals as I have a small hill of pasta

we eat prodigious amounts of fruit and veg, so will need to get those, plus stuff like milk and bread, other than that we should be fine

I also have lots and lots of (HM) jam, so OH will be having things like baked jam sponges to use some up and fill him up. Used up some leftover egg whites and the last of the christmas cream to make a pavlova yesterday and he had it for breakfast with a big pile of fruit!!!

We have tonnes of chutney and jam because I made loads and then people have given us chutneys and jams for Christmas. OH is doing all the cooking at the moment though so I expect it'll all sit there until I'm better.

Thanks for the recipe Lesley sounds delicious. Hopefully we will be able to start chatting more now that all the festivities are now past, I laughed to read about your pasta hill mine is more like a mountain im afraid its always the thing that i seem to find in a bargain and can never resist lol. Never mind i love pasta and can always find something to do with it. The bean curry sounds nice I keep meaning to try it now that the ex has gone (he wouldnt eat a bean if his life depended on it ) but keep forgetting so def one for the list.
Got a few good bargains in Mr T yesterday as they are reducing their xmas stuff quite a bit but i promise i didnt go too mad.

I am a huge fan of the bean curry and the bean burgers on the plan, although I certainly wouldn't say I am a 'bean and lentil' loving vegetarian.
Had the Spanish omelette tonight with wedges and sweetcorn, very nice indeed!

I've got 4 pks of paneer in the freezer, so as part of the stores use-up, we're having pea and paneer curry tonight

had some lovely sea bass fillets bought with m&s vouchers last night, they were really really good. Something I would never normally buy, esp from marks, as they are so expensive

went to see dgd and dd yesterday and we had great fun making origami piggy faces and tiny tote bags from a site I found. It was just 3 sheets of ordinary printing paper and some crayons, but it amused us for quite a while! :)

    sure, it was here

we did the whale as well, and lots of baby whales

I made a square with the A4 paper, and then used the oblong left to make little squares and made the baby whales, extra tiny totes and baby piggy faces from that piece of each sheet

    they were very easy

Excellent, thank you. If Alice recovers from her current grumpiness we shall have a go this afternoon.

Wow so quiet on here did everyone win the lottery and now have no need for a frugal site? Shame on you all for not telling me:rotfl:
Must admit not been following the plan very well but did have the tomato pasta the other night (my pasta mountain has not diminished despite my best efforts) which was lovely. Omelette tonight to use up some eggs that have been hanging around for a bit too long. Still got a good few things in freezer to use up before i really need to shop again.
Hope everyone is well and look forward to hearing from you all soon xx
