For xmas how much to spend on a 4 year old

I have four children and used to spend about £300 plus on each now their main present is £100 each plus i get them lots of stocking fillers
so i would say i spend about £200 each the only presents they get are the ones we buy and a couple of family members
I found that because i gave them a lot years ago they are hard to buy for now but my eldest is at college(he works p/time) he buys what he wants himself so none of them have told me what they want only my youngest his 8 wants gross magic:eek:
The children are always grateful what they get and they do know if they want things during the year they save up their pocket money to buy it themselves
Buying for a 4 year old is easy they always look for the biggest present which you can usually get for about £20 :rotfl:0 -
My 2 boys both have gameboys - just not the current model, they have a gameboy colour each which they had for their birthdays. I got them from Ebay
They were both less than £20 each and came with loads of accessories and games, and they LOVE them. It's not a lot to shell out if they get broken either! Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:
I have done reading too!

Go down to the supermarket and get loads of big boxes, put one item in each and wrap them up, you could fill a whole room, let the kid loose and he'll be occupied for the day ripping them open!
what does £20 buy you these days though ?!

I am amazed at how much is spent on pressies! My 13 year old wants a psp this xmas and as the value pack is £179.99 I am really struggling with how can I pay that much for my teenage son and not on my 7 year old? I really think the psp price is too much.0

I have never gone off prices, may seem unfair but I just make sure they get some of the things they want/need rather than going by cost. They don't care what things cost. Sealife centre membership will be one of my sons this year again. One day I might be more organised...........

GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
Wow! We tend to buy by item not price - last year DS was desperate for Skybase so that came from Santa and Mum and Dad bought a few bits to go with it. We have always explained to DS that Santa brings one main present and a stocking - Mum and Dad buy one main present same as birthdays. I guess all told we spent £75 last year and I thought that was way too much

This year he doesn't have a main toy he wants so I have bought a few bits from Amazon and a few from the Tesco sale, have spent less than £20 so far but I am sure I will spend a bit more, more than likely a few GBA games but they will be from EBay or my Blockbuster credits from returning old games.
Oh and some books from BookPeople.
But the most fun he has had this year was with a Dyson box - it became a fort then a rocket then a spaceship! It was taking up the front room for weeks. The smallest deed is greater than the grandest intention ~ Anonymous0 -

Lizzie baby won't remember!! Trust me, you will end up taking photos of baby playing with wrapping paper and baby will love wrapping paper
My DS is 6 and can barely remember last year let alone when he was 1 or 2...
If you can afford it then I guess it doesn't matter and enjoy every moment but it truly is the paper they play with....The smallest deed is greater than the grandest intention ~ Anonymous0
