Right ok, on the software4students website it says that I can purchase 2 lots of Windows 7 if I have 2 students and I have my son is also a student at the same college but when i registered and it said to list the second student in my account section only my daughter was showing up and nothing to add a second student. I'll have another look in the morning otherwise i'll have to phone them up. If i can get 2 windows 7 then with microsoft office on offer on that site my total would be £116.

Thank you all again for your help.
Let us know if u need any additional help Kimberley ;)

I've decided to buy the family pack of Windows 7 from Amazon as that is where it is cheapest at the mo. I'm also going to go through the upgrade route rather then a full clean. What I want to know is will my broadband still work the same or will i need to re install it? Will my printer or digital camera drivers need to be re installed if an upgrade was done rather then a full clean.

Difficult on a precise answer Kim: there might be new and additional drivers for the printer/scanner -- won't be a problem -- available from Internet.

    don't get confused:

people are recommending an upgrade in ram, say 1/2GB

    and

an external hard drive to backup data -- useful always. something like this :

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^The 1.0TB version will be more than ample Kim ;)
  • Hi Kimberley, We've just clean installed Windows 7 on my husbands pc and we didn't have to install any drivers for the printer or BT homehub, they were automatically sourced and installed by Windows 7.
