  • Hi everyone - ((Hugs)) to the OPs that are going through a rough time at the moment.

I have just updated signature and as you can see I am over budget, but i am very pleased with my spend this month, as I have never set a budget before. I will have a look at my spend for next month and most proberly incease budget, as DD will be home from uni and I havent bought any treats to put away for Christmas.

OH is impressed with me sticking to the budget and has said he will help me next year to set up a spread sheet and budget over the year as well as monthly.

We are away for a few days next week, so I have left DS home cooked meals ready in the freezer for him, and bought the supplies he will needed to make is butty box for his lunch, so he will not starve.
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it. :)

    Weight loss 3 stone :D

£3.68 spent in Lidl today. Noticed their crisps were half price (I do love their weekend offers) so bought 4 bags...totalling 96 packets :o

My neighbour saw me carrying them in and probably thinks i'm mad now. Oh well! It's a bargain and it will last me months :D (I didn't tell her that i've still got about 24 packets from the last time they had some on offer).

Havent't bothered to take out this weeks money as not planning a big shop this week, spent 32p today on some reduced baby sweetcorn to add to thai green curry for tea. So wil updat sig asap but still in budget for the month.
  • I would like to declare Nov as £166.53 with 22 NSDs. :j

Please could you put me down for £250 again for Dec. Managed to stay under budget by using freezer & cupboard stock which is now fairly low.

OH wanted pizza yesterday £19.99 from Dom)*os, today £8.60 from market for fruit & veg and £35.57 from Mr S of which was mainly drinks for the festive period. Will be popping along to Mr S again on Tuesday to check for bargains as they are closing the store at 18:00hrs until 01st Dec due to a refurb.

I've blown my budget for this month as I spent over £100 in $ainsburys yesterday  I won't be able to update my signature until the money leaves my account as I've mislaid the receipt. I'm not exactly  about it but I'm not too :( about it more like  ! I'm struggling to think just what I bought at the moment (too early!) but it did include things like 2 jars of coffee (on offer) and some frozen veg which will last. Oh and £14 of that was on alcohol  and taking advantage of offers (4 boxes of d*ve soap at £1.34 each (instead of £1.99) nb its £2.19 in some places
So I'm not too disheartened and I'm keeping track which is good - I normally give up by the end of the first week !

I also tidied my kitchen yesterday including sorting my cupboards so now I can see exactly what I have - everything has its home so it will be much easier to meal plan and stay organised :D

EDIT I have found my receipt and updated my signature. When I look at my spends in cold hard computer text, it makes sobering reading. I would like to think that I could stay out of the shops between now and the end of the month but that isn't going to happen although I will try to limit my purchases to the bare minimum. I know there were a couple of visits to m&$ this month where I just bought because I was there and I didn't actually need anything in particular so lessons learnt for this month include that I must meal plan and use up what I have and no more finding stuff to buy in shops !

I think as we approach the last month of the year that I am going to set myself an annual budget but break this down into monthly amounts so that if I overspend one month particularly if there are lots of good offers, it won't mean I have failed the challenge.

Although next month is the festive one !, I'm still going to budget and I have decided to set myself what I hope will be an achievable £300 and perhaps an extra £50 for xmas extras. I'm going to my friends for xmas dinner - all I need to take is wine and perhaps a pudd and there will be the usual family visits so odd bottles of wine etc. I'm not going to go mad buying tins of biscuits / chocolates etc and all the other usual treats because (1) it will save me money if I leave it in the shop and (2) it won't help my slimming world campaign.

    * I will * sit down and meal plan for the week later :j for this week / the month and try to use up as much as possible what I have in the house.
  • Hello all,

Just to let you know I am still with you but have not been very organised lately. Had an op and that meant my mum doing a couple of shops for me and tbh I don't want to include them as she buys things I would not.
i.e. Me - Mum can you get me some ready meal from the whoopsie bit please
Mum - Comes back with a £3.99 best of the best all singing curry saying it looked nicer.

Soooo.. I am probably out of budget this month but it is not my fault. Therefore for the rest of the month I am going to be sensible and just see how it works out.
