Morning all ANOTHER spend yesterday - this time for £14.01. I'm quite far into my budget for this month but I am quite determined to stick to it (or not go too far over if I can help it)
Will go update my sig nowEmma
Aug GC - £88.17/£130
NSD - target 18 days, so far 5!!0 -
Had a few no spendy days (foodwise) since my shop on Saturday. I had MrsMcCawbers Chinese Pork on Saturday and it was yum! I did it with diced pork and on the hob so it only took an hour (I'm too paranoid about leaving any electrical items on when I leave the house, so a SC is out of the question for me:o). Mixed with some stir fry veg and served with rice. Definately a staple recipe! :j
Sunday my flatmate cooked roast beef with the trimmings, and it was his turn to cook last night, but didn't fancy cooking - he therefore bought fish and chips for both of us. It didn't cost me anything, but this sort of food definitely needs to be restricted to the 'treat' category, and not as regular as it has started to become!
Tonight I will have the rest of the stir fry veg, defrost 2 pork lion steaks from the freezer and use some of the Thai 7 spice seasoning I want to finish. Serve with rice again.
I need to do a rice run soon I think! After today I will have nearly have finished what I've got..I last bought 2x2kg bags this time in September, so that's 1kg each per month! Most of my meals seem to require rice so I guess that shouldn't come as a surprise....:p

Hello,
Updated sig with a £57 spend in Mr A and £12 in M&S. This included some Xmas bits though, such as a belgium biscuit box half price, BOGOF relish and pickled onions, breadstick selection plus other stuff i have forgotton (must check wardrobe where it is all stashed).
Another £250 as the car failed its MOT, that's £500 to fix the car in a single month   Not a good month to use up EVERY PENNY of our expendable income, will have to resort to emergency ISA fund to pay for any Xmas prezzies I buy between now and payday, and then pay myself back! Plus it's my birthday on Thursday and we've planned to go to a Chinese buffet, so that'll be another £20 spend, and there's noooo way i'm going to go without on my birthday, espeically as I can't even take the day off (work in a school).
Sooo, had beef and onion pie plus B E's popcorn chicken with pilau rice and veg (we are pigs). Am going to my mum's for dinner tonight, OH's parents for dinner tomorrow and out on Thursday so no need for any food shopping (aside from bread and milk) till the weekend. Yippee! :jMake £2019 in 2019 No 153 - £4517.17/£20190 -

Still got rice pudding & soup which will see me through till the weekend
Also got some fresh soup in the freezer I made last week, 50p did me for 3 meals! fab value
Glad am going for meal with mum Saturday...and Sunday sure I can pinch a toilet roll to take home..lol

looked at my online banking and saw I was charged twice on my debit card for some wine I bought in a small local shop.
They refuse to refund it, because there's 'no proof that I didn't buy two lots of wine separately'
Will never, ever go there again! So that's another £12 to add to the GC for absolutely nothing.
MoneySavingNovice, that is outrageous!
Surely they can check the till transactions/records and see that both bottles were paid for at the same time, despite you only leaving with one bottle ...there should also be CCTV footage to prove it.

I have been refunded £5 from Food Bargains due to missing/damaged items in my last order, so i have knocked the fiver off my grocery spends thus far.
And i've added on the £6 and £7 spends on groceries i have bought since i was last on here.
Right now i am eating some leftover vegetable lasagne with a piece of home made bread. Yum!
Tonight may well be a grocery spend though as a new Tesco Superstore has opened up in town and Tesco have sent me 4 vouchers to be used 1 per week; £8 off a £40 spend :j
Will update tonight if i do go shopping later.
I'm going to check on Mr T online to see what offers they have on and then buy it in the store so i get my £8 off :TGrocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

There seems always to be something going on to bring us down. I do hope you will soon be feeling in better spirits. Life is hard enough to deal with, without our heavily relied upon appliances failing us.Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

Hello all,
I'm trying for £375 this month,
Month started 29th October and finish 26th November
New Total £177.63
Londis £8.80
Aldi £11.45
New Total £197.88
I'm looking at £75.00 per week, so this total shouldn't be more than £225.00 by 18th November0 -
Hugs to all those not having a good time at the minute.:grouphug:
I don't know if it is just me but it is a funny time of year - the lull before the madness and excitement of Christmas but very hard on the pennies when we are all trying so hard to be good.
Anyway, eventually got rid of the relatives but did have to top up at the weekend so another spend of £36.36. Fridge full of leftovers so we are going hopefully to have a few no spend days. Things are very tight this month so I have no option but to come under budget. I may have to hide DH's cards - he has a habit of popping to Li*l for milk and returning with lots of 'bargains'!!!!

Evening all .. Well my DH and I have just come back from a long weekend away.. thought we were doing well using Tesco vouchers to book hotel for B&B however still managed to spend £180  on days out lunches and evening meal.
Oh well we had a nice time and we had no holiday this year so not that bad on the whole.
Cheap week for us now.. been to the grocer and bought veg for the rest of the week and nipped to coop for a few bits total £10. Wanted to avoid the temptation of the supermarket so a freezer week for us. :TGoal - We want to be mortgages free :j
