  • Well I'm livid...

looked at my online banking and saw I was charged twice on my debit card for some wine I bought in a small local shop.

They refuse to refund it, because there's 'no proof that I didn't buy two lots of wine separately'

Will never, ever go there again!

:(:( So that's another £12 to add to the GC for absolutely nothing.

Small spend today, £2.15 in MrA for rolls, whoopsied lemon tarts and coconut tarts, plus £3.99 in local pet shop for litter tray liners:eek:
Usually buy from PaH,where they are £1, but I'm stuffed with the cold and I couldnt be bothered driving there just to buy those.

I'm all for trying to support local/small businesses but sometimes their prices are a bit mental!;)
    Off to update sig!

you will always be rich enough to be generous.
  • Well did my 'big mid-month shop and it came to £47.30 which wasn't too bad, and I am still within my November budget.Got lots of fruit and veg and quite a bit of whoopsied meat for dinners. So although it seemed a lot I am hoping I won't need to shop much between now and the end of the month ,maybe just fresh milk and the odd loaf of bread.Cupboards are looking fuller and the freezer is o.k. for a good 10 days at least if not longer.Just off to sort out some lunch for myself .I may cook at lunch time as I have Uni tonight so cooking dinner too early in the evening means I don't digest it properly so I swap dinner to lunchtime and lunchtime to the evening IYSWIM
have a good and hopefully inexpensive day everyone

After last weeks overspend by £10 we spent £0 this weekend and only envisage spending about £10 this week on basics including cat food. :j

I've been making bread and scones over the weekend so that should save something.
  • Had to go to Mr T on lunch to get the guinea pigs some fresh food. Wouldn't have had time to go after work as it's my mams birthday so I'm going to see her for a bit and she's kindly said she'll do tea for me and my OH :j

So I spent £12.48 today on 2 loafs warburtons bread, 1 small bloomer loaf to go with our soup for lunch, just under a kilo of onions, some ham for sarnies for lunch and I want to start building up a spice selection so I bought turmeric, coriander, 5 spice and garlic powder. The guinea pigs got rocket, lettuce, cucumber, kale, spinach and carrots.

Hoping I won't need anything else until the weekend now when I'm going to try to get to my local farm shop as I've pretty much ran out of meat now. I only have just under £60 left of the budget so it's going to be a bit of a struggle to hit target. Would have been fine if I didn't spend so much at the beginning of the month :(
Going to get to grips with food shopping again, starting February!

Got married to my lovely hubby on 12/11/2011 :D

İ am concluding it is not cheap to have a turkish diet here in turkey lol--it is healthier and tasty but inflation is constantly eating into cheapness!
İ stopped drinking beer last january because i wanted to live a healthier life and lose some weight plus the price of alcohol had just been put up 10pc in the new years eve budget--my beer went from 2,25 to about 2,75 but this friday i was dying for a beer so i popped to my local 'market' and it had gone up to 3,35!! thats about 50pc in 12 months!--basics like bread and cheese are good and cheap but things like beer and chocolate are very expensive. the Governnment controls unhealthy living by pricing it out of people's reach-this seems to have a logic that the British Gov might learn from after this weeks report on alcohol doing more hard than hard drugs to the health of the country!
As aside to this we pay our secretary 600 lira a month so about 265 quid so a beer is an expensive investment on a normal working wage!!
