hi all
Put me down for £280 this month last month just went over my budget but much more aware of what i am buying. Found it easier if i paid cash for my shopping cos i only take a certain amount of money with me each week so i have to make sure i don't overspend. Am buying three items each week to put away for xmas, so xmas weeks shopping should not cost me much and i can relax.
First shop of the month yesterday and spent £64.:j Debtfree and and staying that way.:j3-6 month emergency fund, No.61 £140.000 -
Hello all
I'm aiming to spend just £100 in November.
I'm counting in the big stock up I did yesterday - £49.54 which included a £10.00 M&S dine in deal, £11.37 in S and £28.17 in A. I only shop once a fortnight, apart from the odd bit of fruit and veg, and have a freezer full of meat, so hopefully should just about do it! Spending half my budget before the month has even begun in a bit of food for thought though!Trying to take control of my home and belongings!0 -

Happy Halloween All!!!
Into Nov and another fresh challenge, I am hoping to include some 'christmas' items in my shopping each week, not a huge amount as I dont go overboard as just us (5) and maybe my mum. We dont drink and I get loads of sweets and biscuits given to me at xmas.
Mrs M can you please put me down for £350 please for Nov.
My car is very broken so we really need to try and find cash to pay for it,think hubby is going to have to talk to bank nicely sadlynever had anything go wrong with it before, we dont have any savings but after xmas I really am going to try to put something aside. We managed to put by £200 in Oct for car tax,,we did it from extra work hubby did and I saved £25 each week SO I know we CAN do it!!!!!
sorry am rambling on about car,,happy & bargain shopping all :-)Life happens when you are busy making other plans

Mrs M, can you put me down for my usual £100 for November please. I am hoping to do better than last month as I went over by £9.17.
Went shopping yesterday as my mum and dad was coming round for tea, had a lovely pork dinner and all the trimmings.
Also got milk, bread and yogurts so total so far £16.290 -
Thanks for the new Fred. I would like to be put down for £200 again this month, I beat it in October which I think is my first underspend, and I would like to do it again in November but I want to start stocking up for Christmas, so will stick to the budget and see how it goes. I will be taking the cash out and doing a cash only month too. I need a lot as I really ran my stores down, but am hoping by being careful it will be OK.It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

Last day of October and NSD today .I have managed to put all of my October savings away for next years holiday so i am very pleased .Tomorrow starts a new month and I have my £120.00 already in my food purse .This I keep seperate from any other money I have and only use it to buy food with.I am hoping to be as frugal as I can this month as I have quite a few birthdays coming up before Christmas.
So More delving around in my freezer and using up whats in there.
today i am just about to go and have some porridge for breakfast and lunch will be a cheese and tomato sandwich and some fruit as in the afternoon I am off to DD's to make some cakes and biscuits with my DGS.I have dinner there every Sunday night unless I am away.I have some rather past their best (a bit wrinkly) apples in the fruit bowl I think after breakfast I will peel and stew in lemon juice and brown sugar and make an apple crumble to take with me this afternoon.far better than binning them and with some pouring custard over the top it will help fill up some of my DD's little ones tummys.
Good luck everyone on the new GC starting tomorrow,I think we all do amazingly well:)0 -
Talking about store cupboards - just been rootling around in mine and found two cake mixes lurking. Not only were they whoopsies but they were also BBF 07/2009. Well, in true MSE fashion I cooked them up and I now have a batch of butterfly cakes ready to be iced and a batch of oat and raisin cookies of which I've just scoffed two for my breakfast ( naughty). Guess what - I'm still alive!!:money:
The reason for the rootle was that I'm going to bake my Christmas cake tomorrow and I need to soak my dried fruit. Its in a big bowl with brandy and smells divine!
Have decided Im going to make my own mincemeat at the weekend as I have all the ingredients except a couple of apples and suet and I aint paying £2 for one jar. I like to make my own mince pies!
you will always be rich enough to be generous.0
