Losingpatience - Sorry to hear that you are having a rough time at the moment. Hang onto the fact that you are together this year and hopefully 2011 will be kind to you both.
Had to go out to get milk yesterday which was £6 plus some other bits and bobs, in the end spent £9.85 Today has been a NSD mainly because am full of cold and just dont feel like doing much at all. However will have to go shopping tomorrow as mum will want taking. Will have to be really strict to come within budget this month as only have £63.24 left to last till begining of Dec.MARCH £62.38/2500 -
lannylee, £75 for you OH and two cats! what's 8p shower gel like rebekah24? That's some serious budgeting :j
Well we had 2 orders the last few month from Appr0ved food & B1g Brands for less, plus the freezer is rammed (I'm a Whoppsie addict:D), so I'm hoping we'll get by with just our veg box & bread etc. Plus I've got £70 on my ASD@ card so that will be food for Xmas day & boxing day & we're at my mums from the 29th until the 3rd, so I'm hoping it is do-able
On that subject where can I get reasonable cat food from, my 2 are fussy & will only eat it from a tin with either gravy or jelly & MrM have stopped doing there 24 tray for £9.50 & they won't east ASD@ supermeat food so it's pointless getting there 24 pack.
Any ideas?0 -
I agree with Moniker I went to my local Sains earlier and it was manic in there as well. I very nearly turned around and left but had to get my mums shopping as well so stayed for the stress!!!
I finished way over budget for November which I sort of expected.
Can I please be put down for £375 for December please (my month runs from 25th November - 23rd December). I am going to keep a different budget for the xmas food and drink. Have just started to get a few bits for the new baby as well so that we dont have to buy lots of things at once so had a bit of a trolley full of nappies in Asda earlier lol.
Thank you to everyone who runs these boards and makes it possible for us to have such a nice place to go and "try" and keep an eye on grocery spends and those who are always there to offer advice.
Also, sorry and hugs to all of you who are going through berevement, medical issues etc at the moment. Thinking of you all.2 adults and 3 children DD (14), DD (12) & DS (10) :smileyhea and 2 mental beagles.

Hi
I know this is a little early but I would like to join in the GC for Dec if thats ok?
First month doing it so will set the budget at £100 (£25 x 4 for me,OH and DS who is only 2). Not adding any money on for christmas meals and treats as we're off to visit my mum, nan and pap. They wouldnt accept any money after driving all the way up if I tried!
Hoping to knock off £5 a week...maybe more but I doubt it! :rotfl:Not when OH sneaks off to buy more food from the shop on a weekly if not daily basis!
Please add me to the list for next month. Thank you!:)0 -
Well I'm declaring at a whopping £92 over for Nov.
Next month can only get better right?! Lol!Mortgage£148,725 Student loan£13,050 HSBC loan£12,221

As to the Grocery Challenge - my "My Supermarket" list this week at Mr T's is £82.47 (I have to buy compatible printer cartridges for the Epson printer, which adds £7.00 to the bill). DH is out atm getting his car MOT'd and when he gets back, I'll go to do the shopping. Hopefully I can shave a bit off the bill and get it under £80.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Christmas spends come out of my Christmas savings pot - I put a £1 a day in a jam jar from the beginning of January to the end of November and that is it - all presents, food and treats come out of that £334.
that's a brilliant idea - I'm going to do that next year for christmas presents!! Thanks for inspiring me :beer:This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

The closest we have come to replicating that is adding money to a Mr S gift card for all the food, drink and treats we will be getting for Yule. We have £100 on the gift card now which we think is amazing - it will certainly be paying for a very extravigant December/Yule . However even if next year we were to put £100 on the card over the year we would still have £234 to spend on peoples Yule gifts  - Current Yule gift budget for the year is £180.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy0 -
Well I spent more than the £20 I intended to spend at Mr S on Wednesday night. Ended up spending £26.95 as I bought a couple of things that were on offer. I only did this because my lovely Mam gave me £30. Yesterdays trip to Birmingham took longer than normal due to the snow, took us 2 hours to do the 10 minute journey to get onto the A1 but thankfully once we were on the A1 it wasn't too bad. I managed to stretch 1 portion of curry I had frozen to two meals for us on the Wednesday night by adding extra tomatoes and peppers and made a quiche to take down for lunch yesterday so we didn't have to stop at any service stations for food. However, we did get a takeaway when we got home
I've only been getting 3 hours sleep for the last week so was just exhausted when we got home and couldn't face cooking.
So my spends were over as I needed some bacon ( I got the cheapest I could find, which is a first for me ) and some single cream for the quiche. I bought some oven chips ( naughty I know, but I find them handy when I can't face cooking ) and some birds eye cod. I figured that we'd spend at the very least £10 on food at a service station though so the cost of ingredients for the quiche, although additional spends on my grocery spends, worked out alot cheaper then buying food at a service station IYSWIM.
So total spends for the month now stand at £250.10, a current overspend of £30.10Going to get to grips with food shopping again, starting February!
Got married to my lovely hubby on 12/11/2011
