{{HUGS}} to everyone that needs them!
Am declaring £95 for November. We spent an extra £30 at the weekend as we had a party for out 1st wedding anniversary, we had about 25 people over for the party & almost the same again for breakfast the next day so I'm not complaining at £30, as at one point it would have been £130!
Mrs M can you please put me down for £75 for December GC - am hoping it will be less than this, as we have a sperate budget for Xmas food/drink & am going to my mums on the 29th until the 3rd so we won't be spending then, the only difficult bit for me is that we generally get paid a week early & I have to try really hard not to go mad & then live on beans on toast for the last 2 weeks of Jan

wssla00 I am sooooooo sorry for your loss ((hugs)))
Sorry i am a bit behind with this months thread I dont know why I havent been able to keep up. Anyway I am now officially over spent ( another £12.07 the other evening BUT this did include 2 packs of lamb mince which were heavily discounted, cereals for DS and much needed juice as we had completely run out). I thought I had updated my sig the other day when I was last on but it seems I forgot so I shall now toddle off and check what it should be!!!Emma

Ok so £113.14 plus the £12.07 makes me overspent by £5.21. Not too bad and there should be no other spends so not too bad i suppose.
On the topic of next months budget - I shall probably leave my budget the same as other months. I WILL be with my parents for a few nights more than normal months but I wont reduce my target and this will allow for any little treats (if that makes sense)Emma

Hi all, I think I will bow out of December's challenge but I will still be around reading. I have just lost my father in the last week and don't think christmas will be the same this year.
**hugs to all those who need them**
I am so sorry for your loss wssla00. :grouphug:
It won't be the same this year but Hippechiq is right in saying that noone can take away your memories.
Christmas will get easier as the time goes by. I lost my father on Christmas Day some 14 years ago. My Mum went on twelfth night four years ago and on Christmas Day of the same year my aunt, Mum's sister, passed away. So it can be a very hard time but eventually, and it takes time, you will start to remember fondly the people lost rather than the pain you are feeling now.
I can't say anymore but do try to be strong. My sincere thoughts are with you.

Hi folks,
Just back from my first Grocery shop for December. Didnt do too badly, spent £30 and I'm pretty well stocked up.
I put my blinkers on and tried very hard to ignore all offers, Christmas or otherwise that were not on my list.;)
Have decided to set my budget for £160 for December. This will cover everyday food etc, I've set aside a separate Christmas budget of £150, so any specific Christmas buys will come from that. I would really love NOT to spend all of that if I can help it!
you will always be rich enough to be generous.0 -
Just a few top up items for me this week. Got just over £20 left to last me until end of the month which should be ample. Can you put me down for £200 for Decemember please. This is an absolute maximum. The £50 increase is due to me doing some entertaining in the run up to Christmas - I'm out of alcohol so will need to buy a couple of bottles of spirits plus the cost of Christmas dinner etc. Will do my best to come in less.0

Just got back from Sainsbugs - it was manic in there! I think someone had heard that we might get some snow! :rotfl:
Anyhow, I have started on my December budget and have tried hard not to be seduced by the Christmas offers and stick to my list but I have spent £167.95, leaving roughly £60 a week for the next three weeks before the Christmas holiday. It should be easier as we have no parties, and we don't drink alcohol during Advent (though currently we are spending around £11 a week on booze-which I suppose isn't a lot by some standards and cheaper than drinking the equivalent 2-3 bottles of wine per week in the pub!).
Mrs M can you put me down for £350 for December please?
Have updated my signature and will continue to post here until the new thread is up and running.
Off to put my feet up before setting out to work this evening.
Have a good one everyone.

Another no spend day today more down to no money the day before payday and 5 inches of snow than my budgeting;)
I have tried to cobble a dinner together for tonight as my DH was complaining of been hungry last night after his tea and hungry at lunchtime today even though he was sent off with chicken soup, bread, hm cake and fruit:mad: I haven't got many potatoes left so will add some yorkshire pud to the plate to fill it out and serve with our favourite HM mint and redcurrant sauce.:p We are having quorn sausages and veg too:D
I will make a treacle microwave sponge with custard for desert, I would have made pineapple upside down cake but my can opener has broken and I can't get into the tin:D
Please can you put me down for £450 for December, to run from tomorrow until the 30th December. This is made up of £366 cash, £59 saving stamps and £25 Mr M voucher and will include all food for humans and dogs, toiletries, cleaning, alcohol and all Christmas food and drink. It will also need to include one happy hour pizza lunch for 3 adults and a festive coffee from C0sta:D It is quite a generous budget as we are doing a fair bit of entertaining over Christmas but I am hoping to make savings on our day to day costs and get back into the habit of meal planning.
((Hugs)) to all those who need one.

I'm sooo glad the month is almost over, not that I'm running short on food or actually have any money as I haven't been paid yet!! I've been really craving a big jacket potato and a rummage through the whoopsies.
I've got £20 for next month, excluding 24-28 as I'll be dining with the wrinkliesI joke, my Mum's got less wrinklies than some 20-somethings!
Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0
