  • wssla00 sorry to hear of your news my thoughts are with you x
    Determined to do better
  • So sorry to hear about your father, wssla00.

Have not been keeping up with this thread at all but have updated my signature with last two shops and I'm just over budget and still six days of November left. It is the junk and alcohol that pushes me over every time - OH and DS home alone last weekend and they went shopping (no need) and bought four microwaveable burger'n'buns at £2.10 EACH! Had left them pizza, oven chips, sausage rolls etc so they didn't exactly have to cook. Anyway, two are still sitting in the fridge as - surprise, surprise - they weren't all that nice! They're gonna eat'em though! Plus k1tkats, choc, crisps, cola etc and a bag of premium dogfood - three times the price and half the amount of the own brand kibble I usually buy! Sorry for rant. And I did manage to turn the pizza into a family meal when we got back by adding extra veg to the topping - onion, mushrooms, peppers etc and the other stuff was in the freezer anyhoo so not wasted. Now just have to try to live out of storecupboard/freezer and garden until beginning of December.

Hi all, I think I will bow out of December's challenge but I will still be around reading. I have just lost my father in the last week and don't think christmas will be the same this year.

**hugs to all those who need them**

My condolences to you and your family. x

They had the re-fill packs (red ones) in the £1 shop, they didn't look full size maybe 200g jar, I don't like Kenc0 so didn't get any but some people had 5 or 6 in their baskets. HTH
A bit late in saying :o but thanks for that info
Lannylee. It's the blue one we drink (bit stronger) but I always think it's good to share info in case it's of use to someone on the boards :)

seasalt How annoying for you, when you're as careful as you can be with your budget, and then OH and DS blow it

BTW Katholicos that £1.44 offer for 400g Vintage Cheddar ends today - or at least it does in my £idl.

At the moment, in my store, their offers run from Thursday to Wednesday. But they have some kind of offer on Mature Cheddar or Medium Mature most weeks.

£2 spent today on 4L milk so I'm now at £245.18 - 18p shy of £30. I should be able to do that surely.....depends what £idls have on offer as of tomorrow meat wise really.

Hi all, long time since i've been on here:( I must mend my ways, have just updated signature. I know I am going to be well over budget at the end of the year but it is getting so hard to stretch the money I dont seem to be able to keep on budget. Must post more and read more I desperately need insperation, income is decreasing whilst everything else keeps increasing:eek:
  • Feeling completely fed up at the moment. As I posted previously my fiance is undergoing treatment at the moment, and it looks as though this may be a life long thing. If that's the case it mean's we'll never be able to have children :(

Also we have no money, I have £60 in the bank and we need at least a full tank of petrol for the trip tomorrow which will mean that moneys gone and once again I need to go food shopping. The fridge is bare, there's nothing in the freezers I've got no milk, butter, bread, food for the guinea pigs so I have to go shopping tonight. I've made a list of the things I have to have and it's going to be £20. I'm hoping that I'll be able to get some reduced items, though they never seem to have anything marked down, and if it is it's normally not by much or things I don't need. Still 6 days until pay day as well!!

    Bah!!
Going to get to grips with food shopping again, starting February!

Got married to my lovely hubby on 12/11/2011 :D

Oh wssla00 how very sad :(

Words are totally inadequate at such times, but my heart goes out to you hun :grouphug:

I lost my Mum when she was just 3 years older than I am now, but I take great comfort from the fact that, as much as I still miss her, she was the most loving and supportive Mum that anyone could ever have had, and my life is, and always will be that much richer for having had her in it. As is everyone's who was fortunate enough to know her.

Memories are wonderful, and, in time, a great comfort - and no-one can ever take those away from you hun

Hippeechiq that brought tears to my eyes

wssla00I am so sorry to hear your sad news (((Hugs))) to you and your family xx
