I had to un-install internet explorer

I re-installed reaplayer after choosing Firefox for the browser

but now whenever I try to play videos on realplayer a window appears saying "you need to install more software to play this clip"

It goes onto a realplayer window connecting to the internet then says "You need flash player internet explorer click here for more information"

It takes me to the adobe flash player 10 website

I click "download flash player 10"

It asks me to close Firefox

It appears to download adobe flash and says 100% successful download etc.

I go back to realplayer to play a video clip and the same window comes up saying "you need to install more software to play this clip"

abode flash is appearing in my contol panel so it SEEMS to be on the pc but not working

also when I press Start the usual "new Programms" sign isnt appearing which makes me think that adobe ISN'T actually installed probably

I noticed there was a sentence " you may have to disable your AVG to install this" on the adobe web page so I tried that but again it went round in the same cirlce ending with "you need to install more software to play this clip"

anyone any idea what the ***K is going on?

thanks

went into adobe and clicked "Doownload" adobe 10"

it always takes me to a static page saying
Depending on your security settings, you may encounter these steps

but these are just static photographs of different things which COULD HAPPEN but thats it - it doesnt go ant further than that

Firefox has its own flash player - why wont realplayer play vids with that? Or is the flash on firefox blocking it?

went into youtube and of course the vids wont play without Flash but in the middle of the youtube screen was a place to click and it sent me to a place to download Flash which worked easily and now youtube is up & running but still not realplayer (same do-do with realplayer about "you need to install new software to play this clip")

What is the "new software" ?? Surely its Flash

    But I already have Flash!!!

Please Please let them hurry up and get home computers beyond all this - life is way way too short

Use Firefox to download Adobe flash from Adobe website. Once download has finished, shut down Firefox and install Adobe. Installation is done via download manager. Follow all the instructions until it says shut down. This will plug Flash into Firefox.
Go back to the Adobe website from where you downloaded Flash (via Firefox), you should see a message about successful installation. You can now play your Youtube and relevant website.

    Trouble is playing Realplayer clips

youtube seems to be using the flash thats installed with the firefox

But the vids on the realplayer lists are asking for "more software" but wont let me dowwnload adobe flash - its goes through all the steps you have explained including a window saying the download of adobe flash was "100% successful"

but at the end when I turn firefox back on adobe Flash is not on my computer

    Try uninstalling Flash

Then download and install from the full installer, here

    http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html#fp10

Download the Windows Flash Player 10.1 Projector (EXE, 5.30 MB)

I'm getting "page error" for that link

I googled Flash Player 10.1 Projector (EXE, 5.30 MB) and found it on another site but it failed to d/load - it just showed a file window which was blank white space with the adobe logo in the corner - very odd

this has been going on for weeks now - so tedious!!!!

I braced myself yesterday for another 2 hours session to try and solve this

I followed intsructions on google into the innards of my PC reading a forum where a tecchie was confident you needed to go deep into all the boxes on "run" deleting stuff

Of course like an idiot I believed this guy knew more than me so I followed and folllowed this - always a fatal mistake - and today I'm wondering if I havent completely ****ked my computer

I mean how ridiculous is this situation?? I just want to watch d/loaded vids on my pc thats all

I seriously think I need to come back to using a computer in 5 years time when they can spare home users like me this nonsense and the pc will be doing all this crap itself

    its just crazy

its like being expected to know how to build a car engine every time you need to go from A to B in a car

I would get on to Real Player forums for help . Its always been a law unto itself . Better still try dumping RP .
Go to a flash website and try playing a flash video in Firefox that tells you yes or no to correct install .
