MSE Andrea , you answered the question like a pollititian , you ignored the question , then rambled a pitiful half excuse , read my post above then give us a proper answer , taking into consideration the points i have made .The advice given by long term posters on this forum is , Do not phone a DCA , Do not email aDCA , MSE ANDREA has allowed herself to be the mouthpiece of LOWELL ,s who are asking posters to contact them by EMAIL , there is something fundamentally wrong when a company who operate a filthy rotten corrupt often ilegall debt collection scam , are given posting rights on a forum dedicated to help and advise posters whose life has been made hell by the very same company , They dare not come on this forum and debate their collection methods beacause they would be shot full of holes , I think this is disgracefull , it is also disgracefull that we have not got an explanation , my respect for the management of this forum is fast running out .please answer .GRADUATED FIRST CLASS WITH HONORS FROM THE SCHOOL OF HARD KNOCKS RECOMENDED READ IF BY RUDYARD KIPLING0 -
Thank-you for responding Andrea - perhaps you could open a new thread where we can name and shame DCA's who do not operate within the framework set-up by the OFT and where we could continue the debate about posting responses from them?MSE_Andrea wrote: »Hi everyone
Firstly I'm sorry I haven't replied earlier, I've been off work a lot in the last week.
I made a mistake in my previous post. I should have made it clear MSE in no way endorses the statement and I didn't, which I'm sorry for. MSE doesn't endorse any statement a company asks us to give in its right of reply post.
To clarify, we haven't given the company permission to post at all, we've posted a statement for them, which is entirely different. The company should not post and if it does could you report posts to the Forum Team in the usual way please?
Thank you!
Andrea
PS, I know you'll probably want to discuss this and that's completely understandable but I'd hate that this has hijacked the thread away from getting the OP the help needed so if you could focus on that, that would be great. Thanks again!0 -

If MSE feels the need to jump to Lowell's tune, then Lowell would presumably have no objections to posting their entire customer database for MSE users to see. After all, if Lowell think it necessary to put their side across on public forums, then it's not unreasonable for MSE users to put their side across in turn to any customer on Lowell's books. Sorry, but many users do not want to see this forum used as a mouthpiece for a gutless company - one which has driven many people to despair and for which CAG lost many regulars for doing the same. I hope that MSE's site team expresses better judgement next time and refuses to publish any further statements from such companies. If Lowell or any other DCA wants to present their side of things, then they have their own websites to do that - no reason why they should use this one.0 -
I agree - companies like this flout OFT guidelines and make life unbearable for many people. The problem is, while forums like this are a great place for people to vent their frustration, get advice and feel like they are not alone, they are a safety net for people like Lowell because whilst people are venting their frustration here they are not always venting their frustration through the channels that can bring Lowell and other DCA's to justice.
By allowing Lowell to post MSE is potentially making things more difficult as Lowell can try to silence people who they think are a danger to their licence by getting them to phone direct and therefore reducing the chance that they will go through official channels.
That's why we need a thread where we can name and shame and give the only advice that works when a DCA is flouting the rules, harassing people, chasing people for money they don't owe, ignoring (or 'losing' letters), harassing friends and family members and behaving like bullies ..... and let's face it, bullies only continue to be bullies if they know they can get away with it.
Let's stand up to them, together and let's direct all of this anger and frustration through the OFT, the Financial Ombudsman, the DCA's customers (MBNA, Barclays, Santander, etc, etc), Trading standards, our local MP's, the media - anyone who will listen. The OFT can only act if it gets enough complaints about a company.
DCA's obviously read the forums - what a pity they don't pay such close attention to the letters people write to them and the endless phone calls they have to make.If MSE feels the need to jump to Lowell's tune, then Lowell would presumably have no objections to posting their entire customer database for MSE users to see. I see mrtk1 is causing mayhem over here as well, along with his little friends ... Take a closer look, you will see what I mean here and on CAG.
Bye. Any help, opinions, views I may hold those are my own. Respect them as you would expect the same in return. Offered freely, is gleaned from a lifetime of experiences, knowledge gaining. Passed on to benefit others. I may be direct, ask you questions but those are to help you. Up to you if you choose to take it. I won't judge you either way.
