Managed to get a program and it's working but seems to be very slow, does changing the write speed alter the time it takes? I've got it at 8X at the moment and its taking about 3 hours to do a 45 minute programme.2p off is still 2p off!0

THats not the write speed but the encode time your thinking of being 3 hrs or more , yes it will be that slow unless you think of realtime hardware or exporting live to a dvd recorder.0

In my time of dowlnloading and converting video files.
I have come to the conclusion that it is not worth the hassle or time either download as an image or videoe ts / audio ts files.
Unless you have a divx player stick to the above.0 -

You just need the relevant software.
fatboyonadiet's problem was complicated by the fact that he was wrong about the type of file from which he was converting.
He assumed .wmv when it was .avi.0 -

Hi
If your vids are in avi, mpeg, divx, xvid formats etc. then already mentioned in another post, this piece of software will do the job, it converts fairly quickly and in good quality.
Very very simple to use, just get your file, bring it into vso, and click Convert and away it goes.
And not only that, but once its coverted your files into dvd's(vob) files, it will then burn them for you, so no extra software to buy.
Its not a free program though, but you can download a free trial, just to try.
It really is easy and does all the work for you.
