Help please - Edimax router set up problem

    One possible reason may be that the PC that you are using has an IP address which does not allow it to "see" an address such as 192.168.2.1. There are several reason why this might happen. One is if the IP address has been set manually, another is if there is another router or similar device on your home network that is handing out addresses in a different address range.

    If you're running a recent version of Windows, you can find out the PC's IP address by typing "ipconfig" at the command prompt.

    i have my i.p address but i dont need it..... it keeps saying login failed, not on that address, on the setup wizard on the disc.... thats the same problem as kate1976 had, and she said she managed to sort it, but the things she were advised are just not working.

    you dont need the disc
    the IP will bring you to the router config page
    have you reset the router?
    have you logged in before?

    I have tried to reset the router but cannot tell if it has worked because it doesn't do anything

    and i haven't logged in before.... i bought the router today and the default password is not working.

    it says to reset the router which i have tried but still nothing :-/

    Are you ~sure~ it's not the problem? What is the PC's IP address and subnet mask?
