Hi all, I bought an Edimax BR-6226N Wireless router yesterday, supposed to be so easy to set up, even inexperienced computer technophobes like me can set it up...I can't!!!
I put the set up CD in so the 'wizard' could do its magic and all is well till it gets to password bit, the default password is 1234, I did that then it said login failed, I tried leaving it blank, login failed and I just can't get any further which is rather annoying!
Any help will be gratefully received from you techie peeps before I throw the stupid thing in the bin, keep it simple though folks, don't go using big techie words! Thank you

have you got username as admin?
It doesn't give me an option to put a username, the cd wizard goes something like this: language > model number > Connect cables > login but the login screen just says:
Current password
New Password
Confirmed password
I have tried resetting it but nothing and it's really annoying me now!Kate

Current password 1234
New Password xxxxxxx ( Your choice )
Confirmed password xxxxxxx
Try setting new password.
Thanks but that's what I've tried doing and it just keeps coming up with a box saying login failed as soon as I click in the new password box.Kate

right so you put in 1234
then put in your new pasword
and again to confirm the new password.

Look on the back of router for a button that says "Reset to Factory Defaults".
Usually you need a pen or pointed object to press this. Press and hold for about 15 seconds (router needs to be powered on). The start again. This should reset the router back to how you bought it.
Then try the installation again. You could have mistyped the default password or the new one.0 -
tried without the cd,going straight in via the log in IP?
Now that's too techie for me!!Look on the back of router for a button that says "Reset to Factory Defaults".

Yep, I've reset still the same login failed pop up! Have tried several times now, I'm not mistyping the password, am being very careful but still can't get through, as soon as I click in the new password box the login failed message jumps up!Kate
