It cost £800---that included all our outfits, the ceremony and a meal afterwards. Also, a few days in the Lakes for our honeymoon! That was back in 1997! We go back most years for a visit and the tourists are fascinated by our story----each year we go back we tell them at the admissions that we got married there and they let us in for free!
I think our Wedding pics will be in photo albums all over the world---there are always bus loads of tourists there!
Forgot to say there was only the four of us there---the two witnesses were a couple who were getting married a couple of days later---they had just come up from Coventry for their wedding!!! We still keep in touch with them!

#]jky had our children and both sets of parents present and we can honeslty say that it was the best day of our lifes. People who spend 20k+ on a wedding are mad and lets be honest the reception it just an excuse for other people to have a bite to eat at your expense and a honeymoon is just a lame excuse to spend alot of money on a holiday. We got married for "US" no one else. We didn't even accept wedding gifts as we had been together 6 years and already had a toaster and an argos dinner service. :rotfl:0 -
My first wedding was a very lavish affair, white dress and all the trimmings. However the marriage didnt last 6 years, what a waste of money that was. Second wedding was done quickly and on the cheap in a small chapel but i dont regret it. It was a far nicer, there was less stress and was far more romantic when i look back. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
