haha I was thinking of popping down tomorrow, but working at silly a clock in the morning and out on duty on my second job during the evening so sleeping until 4 lol.
Think it will be Monday depending on what hours I'm doing at work!
Just need to tell mum now...she didn't expect me to lose the weight and get my English lol xD.
Tell Mum! If she didn't expect this of you - she is going to be sooooooooooo proud!!!!! Crikey, I feel proud of you and I'm not even your Mum!!!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Best of luck matey - with your Mum (who will be emotional - expect it) and for Monday.
Just never stop posting! I want to hear all about your experiences0 -
2nd job being a Special (have I got that right? Haven't scrolled back, relying on memory) If so ... keep a low profile! Monday will come soon enough

Yeah I'm a Special as well. Hopefully it will help with my application for RMP!
Found a way to get down there tomorrow! So popping down after work, just need to find something smart to wear now!
Mum has said she'll support me, but she isn't pleased lol...can understand, all you really hear about in the news about the Army are people being killed or losing limbs. Might see if there is some information tomorrow for parents. What is pi? Where did it come from?0 -
I had nine years. Three infantry and six Royal Armoured Corps (heavy tanks). Preferred the job in tanks, nothing like it in the world plus the ragheads have got to open the tin before they get to the goodies inside. Infantry has lots going for it too. Just don't expect intelligent conversation.
If you've decided to become a Monkey - then who I am to criticise. It's a fair cop guv'nor.0 -

PS: Keep studying, losing weight and getting fit. You still have selection to pass and it's going to be a nightmare if you're not at peak. You could be sent home again even if accepted in practice.0 -

Wearing a confident smile, an assured stance, with an enquiring mind, speaks far more than your threads - but hey, nice clothes do help with the 1st impressions

Being a "Special" will certainly be a plus in your application for RMP. Have a think about anything out of the ordinary that you may have achieved as a Special which you can talk confidently about. I'm sure you have many tales to tell0 -
Good idea! Mum's adore their kids and cannot bear to think of them maimed/killed; but, Mum's also want their kids to be happy and fulfilled! Make her proud
(I'm sure she is already).

I can't see where OP has actually stated what he hopes to get out of the army. If he did then those of use who've already done it would be able to give him an insight to what he could be facing.
We all know what grunts do but the bloke could be happier sitting outside Knightsbridge Barracks on a donkey or tossing burgers in the cookhouse than he would be tabbing 15 miles with a 60lb pack on his back and an SA80 at the ready.
Me, I preferred to ride rather than walk although it did make BFT's a little harder.0 -
Update time!
Went down earlier today, got weighed and measured again and was told that I'm 1.5kg over weight still, but because I had lost 5 stone already, as long as I get rid of it before my tests, they'll continue my application!
Got my BARB tests on 11/08, can't wait for it!What is pi? Where did it come from?0 -

Great. Keep your enthusiasm up. I bet you feel better for losing all that weight as well. Get your gutties on and start running.0 -
Passed my BARB! Needed 60 for RMP, I got 65!
Only downside, I thought my run time needed to be 14:00...nope...it was 10:30! So better get working on my running! What is pi? Where did it come from?0
