As an investor, you know that any kind of investment opportunity has its risks, and investing in Stocks or Precious Metals is highly speculative. All of the content I post is for informational purposes only.

  • Personally, I wouldn't buy the product itself. If I felt the price was going to rise (a different debate, as you say) I would simply buy a CFD. Prices as I write: Bid $2,356.2 Ask: $2,359.2 [It's per 100 ounces I think]

Anecdote: In the minute or so it took to write this, I note Bid Price now $2,360.4

    Very true.

The reason silver is such a great investment is because it is free of the system why would you put it back in the hands of someone else?
  • Cheapest place to buy it is somewhere you don't pay VAT ;) Ship in items worth less than £18 value there is no VAT to pay on import. Join the dots... :D

Is it possible to buy an ounce of silver for less than £18 and avoid VAT?

I hear customs are doing everything they can to stop silver entering the UK without getting their 17.5% on it.

But that is ordering from outside the UK?

So you would have to pay VAT and customs charges and all the risks?

I thought www.ukbullion.com was very good £18 for 1 oz. Then I found out its plus VAT, and £15 delivery.

Be very grateful for a link to a cheaper, or cheapest place inside UK borders. I do not want to risk problems with customs.
  • guys i hate to tell evertyone but the cheapest is indeed weightoncoin. Before the price increase from august they were actually one of the priciest, but since that rise their prices havent skyrocketed like all the other websites.

one ounce can still be bought for £20, everywhere else is well above that price

thats where i buy my silver from, and it is the cheapest in the UK, bar none.

they display their available quantities, which is another positive thing...

as for me i am out of the silver game so i don't mind telling eveyone where the best place is, as i kept it a bit schtum
