boiler only lasted 3 years

    The reason for the failure is everything, and will determine if any warranty (implied or explicit) is valid

    it wasnt British gas. Anyway there was no life in it. An electrician checked it all but it was impossible to detect what was wrong it would have meant replacing all the parts bit by bit to see what it was, costing money for each part and carrying on until we found the problem.

    We tried to change several parts but it wasnt either of them so how long do you carry on?

    We have a new one being fitted this week but i am still shocked at how long it has lasted the one we had before lasted 18 years.

    I bet he didnt get the thermocouple tester out....... ;)

    Agree with 1984 how on earth can a sparks diagnose a boiler problem unless he's also a heating engineer trained by Viessmann? Have you asked the installer back to look at it for you?

    You'd be mad to shell out for a new one without proper investigation TBH. Postpone the contract for replacement and if you can't get your installer get Viessmann UK out themselves to check it.
