Sorry to hear about dh job, hope he finds something he wants quickly.
Well done on sticking to your guns r.e. the parent, cheek of it, she needs to sort out her/hubby work pattern not ask you to to fit around her! In was once the manager of a small supported living house that required sleep-ins each night. I checked the phone bill one month and found that the house phone was engaged for hours when one member of staff was sleeping in, I said she needs to stop this happening as what would happen if someone needed to call in an emergency. She spouted that she didn't see her husband enough because of the shifts, I told her see knew about the sleep ins when she took the job (1 per week) and also she had her own mobile phone!
Anyway fingers crossed for good news soon, H x0 -
You're going great guns hun xx
Have a lovely day xx0 -

As you say, your hours are your hours and you already work long days and weeks. More than most childcare providers do!
My son's childminder (a few years back) had hours from 0800 till 1800 and she very kindly agreed that I could drop him off at 0745 to let me get away to work. It was a mutual agreement that we were both happy with and I would generally be back around 5.30 so she wasn't working extra as such.
However, if she couldn't do that, i'd need to change my hours at work. Ultimately, either her/ her husband's work has to give and they need to change things around the childcare or they need to find childcare that fits around their hours. There's childminders in my area that do 'out of hours' childcare in evenings and weekends.
Anyway, glad you stuck to your guns.
Also glad you've got a little savings put, but fingers crossed you don't need to dip into them.

more good news.......
all Childminders and nursery's are invited by the Scottish government to apply for funding to purchase new resources for their setting, i applied in November and I have just received confirmation that I am getting what I applied for :j so I have £1290 winging its way to me but this must be spend on resources that I put in my application form.
I applied for natural resources so i have a large wooden tee-pee, a huge wooden chalkboard, a mud kitchen and utensils for the mud kitchen :j
I'm so happy as it took four hours to fill out this application for explaining the benefits this would bring to the children who use my setting........never thought i would get it tho
Plus I've finished work early :j so i have nearly a hour to kill before I go to the gym for my two classes, will put this to good use and clear the dining table as its getting cluttered again with the printer and the stuff people put onto of it kidding on they are being tidy :rotfl:NEXT TARGET: Halifax credit card DEC 22 £0 / £4499.12POAMAYC 2011 £6378.35 POAMAYC 2012 £5000.78POAMAYC 2013 £3480.04 POAMAYC 2014 £4085.14POAMAYC 2015 £7565.24 POAMAYC 2016 £8000.90 POAMAYC 2017 £7278.80 POAMAYC 2018 £13208.18POAMAYC 2019 £13309.28 POAMAYC 2020 £15026.050 -
