I'll take your word for it that you are normally a nice guy as you're not being nice just now!!!
You'll see from my posts that I'm a newbie not an expert like you.
I did read posts from the first link and I had a look at the end post of the 2nd like you suggested but can't see any link to what I'm look for in that post!
As far as I can see FairFx do only Euro and US Dollar cards which are not what I'm looking for.
As for the Kalixa card it costs nothing to load it online so that's what I'll do. It costs £2.25 not £2.75 when using an international atm.
Being a Newbie doesn't give you the right to be obtuse.
First of all, in my post I gave you the name of a specific card and CountryGoose reiterated this in his post.
Secondly, CountryGoose didn't actually quote your post in his 'nice and helpful' reply. So why are you taking issue??
But I will refer to you in this post. It has been suggested twice what you should do. If you choose to ignore our advice I will just put it down to stubbornness and stupidity.
In addition I would like to ask you why you are posting here at all if you refuse to acknowledge the aforementioned.0 -
For the rest of you, Fairfx Anywhere0

Obtuse!
Sorry, I don't believe I have been obtuse. But tell me why do you feel the need to put certain words in bold type?
I didn't take issue with Countrygoose, I thanked him for his input and said I thought Kalixa, who have a worldwide card, looked better for me.
You on the other hand, replied in a manner trying to belittle me by saying "Why would anyone use this card?" with your emphasis on anyone and, as far as I'm concerned, you try to do it again in your last post.
I maybe showing my inexperience but I still cannot see how a FairFX card with be of benefit to me in Australia when they do only Euro and US Dollar cards. I maybe be wrong but I assume I will be charged an exchange fee if I use a FairFX Dollar card to withdraw cash using an Australian ATM.0 -

Not another one.
Come on, stop talking(writing) and begin learning.
Go back, read the posts and follow up on the information. I suggest Google.0 -

No wait a minute you're coming on here and making accusations against me and hoping that will not reply, get real.
I may be slow when it comes to which card is best but don't take me for a fool
A good teacher wont just give you the answer they will give you an explanation as to how the answer was arrived at.
I stated that I am new to this and I couldn't see how a card that was in dollars or euros would benefit me in Oz. Rather than explain the benefits you decided to ridicule me by saying "Why would anyone use this card?" No explanation, no direction, just ridicule.
Ok so moving on, thank you for the link to the item on FairFx cards. I now see that there is no convert fee and in fact FairFx does looks like the best deal. It's not hard is it :T0 -

I'm not claiming to be your teacher. We both wrote Fairfx Anywhere. I did so in post #6 when I asked why someone would use the Kalixa card ahead of Fairfx Anywhere. Take another look.
CountryGoose even wrote you a synopsis of the card:FairFX Anywhere Card - load with £, spend in anything, 1.5% commission on spends, mastercard rate on the day of spend, no rate loading - is about the best you can get for a general prepaid card.
Yet you still complained.
So we are helpful, but we don't like lazy people.
It wasn't hard, was it?0 -
We just returned from Australia and Dubai and had no problems using the Fairfx ANYWHERE card (NOT a dollar or euro card, as the name suggests, it is for use worldwide) and the Caxtonfx pre-paid cards. When in Australia you will not be able to get a balance statement from the ATMs, as these companies are not part of the Australian banks system, you have to go online for that.0

Norwich and Peterborough's Gold Current account will be a good option for foreign spending from 1 January. http://www.nandp.co.uk/current-account/changes-to-your-current-account/
This is a good spot - the only issue is a £5/month low usage fee, charged if you have less than 5 transactions a month.
I supposed you could work around this with a weekly £1 standing order from your main account and an immediate £1 payment back by standing order. (Set five up as monthly payments on 1, 8, 15, 22 and 28) and keep a floating balance of £5 to allow for early/late payments.0 -

Donnie, I'm not going to bother replying to your post except to say lets move on from this tit for tat.0
