I pay £20 per child per day to a childminder during holidays & I also pay my mum £10 per child per day if she ever has them. When they were babies my mum would always buy her own nappies, milk, food etc so the least I could do was give her a little something seeing as she saved me a fortune in nursery & childminder fees as well.

Im from the outskirts of west london... My son goes to Nursery 2 days a week and i pay about £306 a month. My mum is kind enough, and able to look after my son the other 3 days a week, id truly be lost without her.

I forgot to add.. this is pro rata'd so whether your child turns up or not you pay. if they are sick, you pay, if the nursery are having training days, you pay!!

My mum managed to change her working days from mon and tues to tues and weds so i could avoid paying for all of the bank holidays.

That sounds like a lot to me, although for full time it's probably not really. £1000 is someone's salary per month!!

I am very grateful for your responses. Now I have a fairly good idea about amounts and things to use as treats for Mum. She'll just love the time she spends with him I think!!
