Sorry that things are not going so well with OH - hope they can be resolved without too much stress for either of you. Living with that sort of tension is no fun :(

    Back to the money

    Todays spends have been

    £10 petrol
    £10 wine
£1.99 loo roll 9 good quality rolls might i add :D
£33.21 food - more than i wanted to spend but was picking up some more expensive offers such as coffee which won't be reduced next week.
    £2 lottery
£2.70 on a very late lunch for 2 when it was too late to prepare anything :o

My lovely mother has just loaned me £140 to cover the DD's :o:o:o Aarrgggh! I knew about them but had spent the money on all the things OH was asking me to pick up and then hoped to cover them from p/t wages and e-bay but not sold alot and had a chunk of p/t work cancelled :(

In other news I have just spent the last 50 minutes washing up :eek::eek: Or more precisely 35minutes faffing around trying to get the flipping hot water to work  - The boiler needs replacing - have known for over 12mths and it is on my very long to do list. The frustration of this did have the unwanted side effect of waking me up somewhat - not great at bedtime. Will pop around the threads for a bit methinks.

    Plan of action for tomorrow:

Post book which i should have done today :o
    Deliver gift to a relative
    Pick up compost
Quick walk around the garden centre - should be cheery :D

Home and some serious study time  - i do actually look quite glum when thinking :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

List at least 3 new items on e-bay - i have been keeping up with my daily declutter but have been neglecting to update my running total

Will do second declutter of desk and drawers - should be fairly quick as 1 drawer isn't mine anyways.

Follow recipe using ingredients purchased today - is fairly mse as i had most things in and just needed a couple of fresh things.

Just remembered I saw some lovely hyacinths today at the place where i'll be getting my compost from and i have a really nice teacup and saucer which i want to pop one in and think will look just fab on my window ledge :D Now to scrabble together my copper to see if there is enough for this little treat

    Hi there
I have read your thread over the last 24 hours in one gulp so to speak.

The things that stood out for me were
    1) that you hadn't told OH about the debts and why you are struggling. How much more stressful can telling him be. It wasn't as if it was spend frivilously if you were basically paying for your half of the bills and mortgage whilst you were unemployed. It might make him think about suggest expensive trips if he knows. Also are you both paying a FAIR proportion of the bills? It if he is on 40k a year and you on 10 k a year then it would be very unfair on your to be paying an equal amount into the bills pot...

    2) You work full time and part time AND THEN come home and seem to do ALL the housework on top of this. So what you are doing a 60 odd hour week at work then about 12 hours commuting on top of this, AND then the housework. And he has the nerve to be grumpy about the mess? Like !!!!!! is that about. He should be doing his share of the housework, at the very least hoovering as you will be tired enough from the working you are doing.

    3) I agree that you need to talk to your OH about what is making you upset. This is because unless you say it in black and white, it is almost certain your OH will have missed the cues that say I am upset. My OH pees me off no end, and then acts all hurt when I tell him how upset I am cos he didnt' know. He didn't even stop to think that what he had done would be a problem... but enough of me lol.

Going forward if he could use some of his disposable income to pay a fair share rather than an equal one, then this would help you no end. I don't understand why all the house repairs have to be paid for by you. Couldn't he pay for the boiler to be replaced? Or what about an energy saving grant? Would you qualify?

Glad you are going to take some more time for yourself DDFW.

My DH is debt free at the moment, and our agreement is, if I want to do something, I pay, and if he wants to do something, he pays. It doesn't mean the other does not contribute to days out or anything, but whoever wants to do it foots the majority of the bill (and if it's something we both want to do, we split it). Perhaps you and your OH could do similar?

    Hi All

Well yesterday my plans went awry a little as the visit to my relative was longer than expected but was lovely nonetheless so that was good :D

I returned home complete with happy little hyacinths :j:j:j - i had to empty my sealed pot so that i would have some money for these :o

All of this meant I did not list anything on e-bay or follow my recipe. Today OH made tea and did 1 of the recipes which was good :D

I have spent some money today though :o:o:o I used the voucher I received at xmas - I did not have enough to buy anything in the shop so had to put some money towards my purchase but I have got something practical that I will use everyday and saved the voucher from actually being wasted and spoke with the person who gave me the gift to let them know what i had purchased and they were very happy too :T:T:T

I have started saving my points on mcvities - i'd love an ipod but don't know how i'd save so many points - know i can't save the money for one though :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Glad you and your OH have managed to sort things out and have a nice evening out. Very MSE too :money:

My DH does not understand the concept of housework, cooking, home maintenance or anything like that either, so I do it all (or at least direct him with regards to home maintenance :D) but he does so much otherwise it doesn't matter to me. He does have to do the dishes though, I'm not cooking and washing up :rotfl:

Glad that you had a nice time with your relative, and at least spending the voucher meant you managed to get yourself a treat without it costing you a fortune!
