Your hall looks lovely Andrew:) I have considered filling and lining paper, but there are some big scars on the walls/ceiling from old walls being removed. I dont think lining paper would cover it.
My ceilings are high Doozer, and the other rooms are coved, so i will probably cove.
I'm having a quote tomorrow for skimming, so i'll let you know
Phill, thanks for that, explains alot:)0 -

Hi...plaster skim assuming the wobbly aspect doesn't suggest more invasive works. We had our previous property's ceilings skimmed for £400 ( 2 bed bungalow) in East Kent and the result looked fabulous...papering can't compete tbh and ceilings are a pita to do unless you have lots of time on your hands.

Because they dont have good taste

Artec no never ever dont even think about putting it on. If ceiling is bad get it reskimmed
Another no no which I have had to endue in 2 houses we have had is polystyrene ceiling tiles, horriblycrystaltips_68 wrote: »Ok, so if artex is soooo out of fashion, why do they still artex all the celings in new-builds?
I dont especially like artex, but i worry about a plain ceiling cracking.
And coving? Is this in or out??
Its not to sell, i plan to live here forever
