  • Why would you change it from yellow? I think it's a great colour - very cheerful which is just what you want for a wedding! And a yellow petticoat under that dress , with bridesmaids in yellow, would look beautiful.

I know you've said you don't want purple, but you've got lilac in your invites, so are you thinking of picking that colour up anywhere else? Also, when are you getting married? Yellow and lilac are very springlike - think crocuses!

    Or red, blue, green, turquoise....

I was worried the yellow wouldn't be enough of a contrast really without going for a super bright one.

I know the invites are lilac, but we're not really fussed about being matching. We chose them because they're pretty and cheap and we're just not that fussed about it. My first wedding was all shades of purple - i don't really want it again.

I like the turquise idea. We're getting married here, so i think that might look lovely because the sea is so lovely.

  • What an amazing place to get married!

I think that yellow and white are stunning for a destination wedding, and turquoise is amazing with yellow too.

Maybe a turquoise petticoat because it would provide a greater contrast with the white, and then a mixture of yellow and turquoise in the bridesmaids' outfits and your accessories.

I can't post links, but I've just done a google search for 'yellow and turquoise weddings' and there is plenty to inspire you!

Right, i will do that at lunch time, thanks!!

I'm only really going to need my bird cage veil. I want a massive corsage to wear on my wrist too. we get flowers as part of the wedding package, but i think i'll give them to my sister (the bm) to hold.

I agree with you about the fussiness of the first dress, but if it didn't have the flowers on it would be perfect! Perfect shape on you. The other two aren't right (imo, of course!) and the third one has the same problem as the original picture you posted.

Your wedding venue looks absolutely stunning!

All the best for the day and your future together.:)

    thanks very much!

I've got lots of colour inspiration now, and I'm feeling much braver about ordering the strapless dress.

Just noticed the polish, it's too cute!!!! Definitely suits the style of that dress, so if you go for a short dress like that wear the blue polish!!!

I don't know why I didn't see this thread days ago :( Where are you up to in your dress dilemmas now?
    I love surprises!
