Yes but i wouldnt say the op has an exceptionally big bust!
Add some width to the skirt which will balance the bust and define the waist. But heck, what do I know lol!!0 -
Sorry Linda
I just have a very similar shape to the OP so I can see myself in that dress, and wouldn't be 100% happy with how I looked in it, plus I have tried loads of tops with that neckline having seen them look fabulous on my tall skinny sister, but a little less so on me!
For what it's worth I think she looks lovely, but could show off her figure to even greater advantage, plus she is obviously not quite satisfied with it.Marrying my lovely man on 1st September 2012

Do i look like a bride though?
Imagine it with a veil, tiara and all that jazz, then you would look very bridal! x:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:0 -
the proportions of that dress are wrong for you. its too wide/thick on the shoulder, and the skirt/bodice split needs to be either a few inches higher or lower, personally id say lower, so it flares more at mid hip level, therefore elongating your body.
i also think having the tulle as an underskirt, rather than top later, would mean you dont get that dead cut-off point between top and bottom. you still get the !!!!!!, but it wont draw attention to the midrift area (which is giving your top half a square/boxy look)
also i know the shoes are prob just to gauge height/dress length, but with a short dress, you really do need dainty shoes. so either a ballet pump, or strappy ballroom dancing ones. youve got your legs on show for a reason, so draw the eye to them

You have a great figure but I am not really liking the dress- sorry, my opinion. You look a bit like a ballerina. Something like the one behind you might be better. Stick with the short but you would really suit a slim line dress, with a lower neckline( not curved). This would also lend itself to high heels, which don't go with the puffy dress.
Of course, in the end, its your day so you go with what you like. As a second wedding- are you determined to stay with white? I'll bet a light pink would be lovely.
Be sure and let us see photos of any other dresses you try:) Its great to feel involved:Dweight loss target 23lbs/49lb0 -
Lots of ideas there for different necklines that will make all the difference, and flatter your bust and waist.
Tea length and also 50's inspired dresses are becoming ever more popular, so there are lots to be found so don't give up on looking, I'm sure you'll find just the right one!A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0 -
thanks for all the feedback, it is really helpfull!
I read these last night but couldn't respond because i can't on my phone for some reason!
I agree that my top half is too big for the dress style, i'm 32F which can be rather limiting. And i know a lot of people will say i should take advantage of it, but i hate having them on show, makes me feel like a tart. Everyone's different.
I've tried on a couple of grecian ones, and because my waist is no more narrow than my hips, they actually make me look more blocky.
I'm going to upload some pictures taken of me in the other dresses... Just need to block my face out for anonymity...saving up another deposit as we've lost all our equity.
