Had quite a few Betterware agents put through unsolicited magazines through my letterbox but never Avon, until today!

Perhaps I should put this notice up...

will be clamped, towed away and disposed of.

I have a multifuel stove. Perhaps I should put up a notice along the lines of "Any unsolicited flyers or catalogues will gratefully (no pun intended) be used as free fuel for my fire."
I married my cousin. I had to...
    I don't have a sister. :D

  • I don't mind the young trick or treaters who come with their parents, like a previous post said, it's mostly kids from our street and it's more like a sweetie swap shop between neighbours.

Salesmen who ignore my no cold calling sign usually get "your wasting your time, i'm a squatter"

Our local newspaper have printed a special "no trick or treat" poster for people to cut out and stick on their door.

I always thought a house with a lit pumpkin meant they were willing to receive Trick or Treaters. When I took my DD out Trick or Treating, we didn 't knock unless there were obvious signs of Hallowe'en-ness fun. :)

  • We have two signs on our door (at eye level) and they still get ignored.

To their credit the Jehovah's Witnesses have always respected them. A pity no one else seems to.

  • Must praise the trick or treaters in our area on Sunday. We don't do Halloween as it's an American thing that we didn't do as kids. Last year, our then 16 week old was constantly woken up by people knocking on the door. We didn't answer but I had a furious row with a bloke through the front door as he saw me go through the hallway to get upstairs to calm her. Anyhow, on Sunday, my OH wrote a note that said 'Toddler asleep - please do not knock' and to their credit, they read the sign out loud, and didn't knock. Big thanks!

The Avon lady (and her husband) have been seen down our road several times since. They NEVER collected the magazine from my neighbour even though my neighbour left it on the doorstep.

But they did call at my house asking for the brochure back. I said I had thrown it away. He objected of course saying it cost him money and that the order form asked me to leave the brochure outside.

I pointed out to him that I never requested the brochure. I could have also said, "why would I read it if I was not interested?". Then there is the Unsolicited Goods Act and the fact it was raining and he supplied no plastic bag! If he cannot be bothered, I cannot be bothered, so there!
