I just answer the door to them and when they say "trick or treat", I normally flummox them by asking for a treat...often gets rid of them as they don't know what else to say!Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free
Mortgage free since 2014

OPen the door with a bucket in hand, say "Hmmm - perhaps a trick?" and watch them run.
Then pick a sweet out of the bucket and eat it

Mine says:
'Kindly note that we do not buy goods and services, nor discuss religion or politics at the door. This means YOU.'0 -
I actually feel a bit of sympathy for them. Many are on commission-only, and it's their (quite exploitative) employers I feel angry at.0

Where I used to live ... one year callers demanded money and then tried to smash the front window when they didn't get it. The following year I padlocked the gate. They climbed over it, saw the house lights on and tried to smash the front door when I wouldn't answer it. Subsequent years saw the local Police actively discouraging trick-or-treating.trisontana wrote: »Our local newspaper have printed a special "no trick or treat" poster for people to cut out and stick on their door."Never underestimate the mindless force of a government bureaucracyseeking to expand its power, dominion and budget"Jay Stanley, American Civil Liberties Union.0 -
Aw you lot are so mean I love halloween, the kids look so cute. Buy a bag a sweeties you misery guts (except maybe Whitehorse ). I take my kids trick or treating and I hate the people who don't answer their doors when they are clearly in. A 2 quid bag of sweets could make 20 kids really happy, it's one night a year.0
