  • tara747-Saw the Wallis jewellery today, and looks lovely, but the girl said that I couldn't use voucher as it is a concessions. Do you always take it to another till to pay for it? It's just that the next till is quite a trek, and don't want to take it there, only to be told, can't use it and then have to go all the way back.
  • I've got a couple of vouchers to use.

But are you guys using the vouchers at different till points with different sales assistants?

Or just buying, say 2 items, taking to the same till and paying separately, using a voucher on each purchase.

Aren't the SA's asking where/how you got more than one voucher?
if i had known then what i know now

I just go to any old till. If the SA is awkward, I just thank them and go to the next one, where it usually works. :D

Save yourself the walk by perhaps taking the Wallis stuff plus something 'non-concession' with you, so that if they won't let you buy the Wallis stuff, you have something immediately in reserve. Or do what I do and find another till! :T

    HTH.

p.s. does anyone notice that it's nearly always female SAs who are awkward and mean? Especially in Tesco. The male SAs are usually sweet and helpful (and clueless ha ha ha) and put stuff through no problems.

I found nice wallis earring set for £5 in sale but lady wouldn't let me use it so went to another till and she put it through fine so I'd go to another till :)

If quite a trek this could be good thing as means the person who said no won't catch you trying it again!!
  • Thanks. Will try voucher on the Wallis jewellery next time. The stuff is too nice to not try it. I know what you mean about the male SAs. Quite helpful and apologetic about the code taking while to input. We've got a real battleaxe in ours, who is the spitting image of Mrs Slocombe from Are you being served? She asked me where I had got the voucher from the other day, with a sniff of her nose, as though vouchers should not be accepted in HER store. Made me laugh more than anything.

Just back from Debenham's, my Dad printed out a voucher and I took a build it yourself Lego pen to the till, it was £5.00.

SA said I don't think it will go through as it is £5.......

Talk about confusing things, I had to stop myself explaining it to her!!!!

I think most people are going to different tills unless your lucky like some people have been & got nice checkout people that have said they can use more.

Lo I do love it when the checkout people take an interest in something like this! Probably just jealous she hasn't got one!
If I had more guts I would have told her to mind her own business!!

    Hi,

I've had the same problem!! I'm AOL too,

I had the same problem but have gone on and ticked the box to receive promo emails and it worked in minutes!!!(have tried at least 5 times with this email adress before) It is strange as my work emails worked straight away without checking the box.

Never mind off to Debenhams on Saturday with 5 vouchers in my sticky mitts - hopefully kids stockings will be sorted once i come out:T
Been stupid but have no regrets starting to slowly sort my finances now the kids are growing

But i had spent £7 its just that both items were less than £5 each so they said they couldn't take £5 discount off ??
The terms say voucher is redeemable once and in one transaction. Sounds like they are interpreting the rules wrong. If you go to a supermarket and fill your trolley with 50 items that does not make it 50 transactions.
