Shysarah after months of hell with gall bladder pain get it done! As a procedure it's usually relatively minor. Be prepared to fart like a trooper as they use air during the op lol I also had 6 liver biospies taken but after being laid up for the day (only because of liver biopsies) I was ok from 2 days later, home looking after a 2 year old and 6 month old on my own so first thing don't panic about being laid up as I certainly wasn't and couldn't have been with the boys. Think there was 6 disolving stitches in each incision and certainly not badly painful etc apart from one time I caught one stitch with my bra.

Well I'm now in my pjs, got an upset tummy so wondering if that's why I felt so rough! Just what I needed when I want to rearrange rooms...
One day I might be more organised...........

Never mind, I'll be out for a fly on the broomstick on Sunday night...bit of fresh air will do me good ;)

Anyway, take care all - I'm off to tackle the kitchen with a big stick...

Nice lady from hospital waiting list department has just rung...

They have a cancellation so Monday I am going for a pre op and then I will be in (all being well) for my Gallbladder removal on 10th November..

    :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Am all shaken now, I knew it was coming and all but am now really scared and do not know what to do with myself.

Got to start planning too as I will be laid up for 2/4 weeks after. As soon as I told mum she started reeling off things I need to organise but tbh right now I am kinda shaken.. :rotfl: stupid me..

Does anyone have a pre-operation check list or if you think of things that I should do please let me know it would be appreciated as right now I am a mess!!

    TIA

    Scatty - Sarah x

Hello, I am waiting for my gall bladder to be out too so you will be able to give me advice soon but I just wanted to say good luck. I'm scared too! Hence, not chasing it up so good on you for doing that.

2/4 weeks? Is that with keyhole surgery?

I guess making meals to freeze and stocking up on non-perishables would be worthwhile doing, depending on OH situation (sorry not been round here long enough to know what you've got going on). Have you been in hospital before?

    (((hugs)))

    Thanks msgnomey and lil_me

I am probably over reacting but I am a bit shaken about it. I know it will be so good as no more pain once it is done but I am big of panic and no good when it comes to looking after myself.. yes, I am a big baby lol.

I am sure it will be fine and they always over estimate the recovery periods and all.

Ok, deep breaths.. now heading off for a hot bath and a hot dinner as it has been a crazy day. I think some chopping and cooking will be most theraputic...

Thanks again this place is so good I don't know what I would do without you all xx

    Thanks Rainbow,
The 2/4 weeks is what I have read on NHS pages about the keyhole op but I am sure it wont be so bad now. Just scared panic mode there lol.

I live alone accept for my cat but my parents are next door so I am very lucky in that sense. Chased it up as I have had the pain and attacks since May this year and its driving me nuts.

Ok... I am going to do some cookery therapy now xx

:hello:Hi ladies! I hope the meet has been fun!

DD and I have now done the first coat of paint in her room - fortunately she's chosen the same colour, so it will only need two coats, and we'll do the second tomorrow. Then I'm handing over to OH who has a week off to lay the laminate flooring, and assemble a bed, wardrobe, bedside cabinet and bookshelf. He's very good at procrastinating, and having a lot of tea breaks, so DD is all set to be on his case:D

I'm struggling with the main bedroom this week - I've washed the bedlinen, but that's it - I have all of DD's stuff piled high. Having put so much effort into decluttering it, I'm having to make a real effort not to get too stressed out by the mess - at least it's just for two weeks!

DD has been mooching around the freebies threadds, and has just had a dress delivered - cost 3p!! And also a free box of nibbles, which are delish!

I really must get stuck into my planning tomorrow - I've started, but that's it.

ffp - I missed your posts too, I look out for your lovely smilies!

    Love and hugs, Serena

    Hiya

We've had people staying all week so not really had a chance to log on. It was lovely having them here but chatting until 1am every day has taken it's toll, I must be getting old!!

I've set myself a goal! I've decided that I'm already living in my ideal home I just need to spruce it up a bit....bit more DIY, bit more of a declutter so I really do need to stay focussed on the flylady lists. I've spent today doing 'bits' and will sort a few more cupboards out over the weekend then I'm back with avengence. The cupboards aren't that bad but I'm sure there's more stuff i can throw away.

Good luck with your pre-op Shysarah. Afraid I've not yet caught up on the rest of the thread so I'll say big hellos to you all, hugs to those who need them or want them and get well soon to all poorlies.

Stripes is now walking for 30 minutes a day on the lead. She has another appointment on Monday for us to see what happens next and find out long term prognosis. Fingers crossed.

    xx
