MrsE iam sorry for your loss x
did he have the same condition as my wee boy, i have been reading on the net about this condition because iam trying to understand & apparently it is found more in Males

    I think so.
He had nothing wrong with him as far as we knew. He was perfectly healthy.
Then he just keeled over, gasped for a couple of seconds & died.

The vet said there is a heart problem that affects male cats more than females & as nothing else was wrong & he was young & fit it was probably that.

But you knew your boy had a heart murmur?

MrsE...Yes he had a heart murmer that only got picked up because he was at the vets last year after being in an accident and having a fractured pelvis, but they told me a lot off cats have murmers & it was nothing to worry about so i never investigated it further.
What age was your cat ? god it is so hard i think you felt like how i felt when he was dying i never want to experience that again

    Ted was nearly 8.
    5 & 8, in their prime really:(

I know its so raw for you now Mags, but trust me, in time you will remember him as he lived & not the day he died.

We had Ted cremated, his ashes sit in a wooden hollowed out cat beside me on the hearth.

It cost about £150.00 or a little more, for a private service, a single cremation & his ashes back in the little wooden cat.

Have you thought about what you are doing?

More common in Persians too, the vet did say that.

Yes i read that between 5 & 8 they can get heart problems
That is nice what you have done with Ted x

Well once he died i was back on the phone to the vets howling & they told me to take him back along to confirm, i dont know why i bothered because i knew it was over but i was on auto pilot by then.
They said i could have him cremated but i wasnt ready at that point so i brought him back home and myself and my friend wrapped him in a towel and buried him under my cherry blossom tree which is right next to my patio doors we put a large stone on top for now but i will get something more special, i cannot bare to look at it x
