£125 for transferring between broad band providers

Hello all,
Decided to move away from Orange onto TalkTalk recently, Orange charged a transfer fee of £30, which TalkTalk agreed to cover.
However since, found Orange had charged £125 for the transfer, for some obscure reason on their part... apparently they had linked a mobile contract with broadband package which levied additional costs...
There was no notice given about charging this amount and I think its wholly unfair.
What are my rights? Wish transferring between providers was less convoluted... Any help appreciated.

if you had used a MAC, there should not have been any transfer cost at all-did you? If not, BT levy a cease charge of about £30.
Without knowing details of the broadband/mobile contract it's not possible to comment on the latter, other than to say that if you were still in contract for any part of that deal, then you would normally have to pay an ETC equiavalent to the balance owing on the minimum term.
Migrating broadband using a MAC is usually quite straightforward. Though now you are with TT your line may well have been LLLU'd, in which case you'll find in 18m that leaving them is much harder than joining them...No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

Dial Up would generally be a big improvement over Orange...No free lunch, and no free laptop0
