Just heard on the old grapevine that Allders have gone into liquidation so hence have reduced prices on all stock.

Not checked it out yet but may be worth a look.

Went to Chatham branch today... nothing AMAZING, butthere are still some good deals there.

Got the new Tefal Jamie Oliver Pro pans at good prices e.g. 30cm Frying pan RRP £46 - Amazon Price £41.97 - Allders in Blue cross and with discount £29.87.

Other Bedding and Towels etc work out good value, but at the moment most things are not worth rushing down there for. Worth a look if you wanted something in particular anyway. :)
  • i went in to the handforth dean store yesterday and there was only ten% off if that - it wasn't worth buying anything just for the sake of it bcause nothing was cheap - the antler products however didn't have anything off them?

Is this the case in any of the other stores???
  • from the latest press release

"We have today completed our assessment of the 36 separate bids for the group. Whilst we had hoped to secure a going concern sale for the entire business this has not been possible. However, we are now progressing discussions with buyers who are interested in 35 of the 45 stores.

"The remaining 10 stores have to date generated limited interest and as a result 'Closing Down Sales' commenced on Saturday at these stores. We are still willing to consider offers for these 10 stores and would encourage parties interested in these particular outlets to come forward and make their interest known immediately. We commenced these sales on Saturday to maximise sales on what is the busiest day of the week for the stores.

The stores not currently included in the negotiations with bidders, include:
    1. Bolton
    2. Chelmsford
    3. Horsham
    4. Ipswich
    5. Kingston (it was announced that this store would close before the Administrators appointment)
    6. Leeds
    7. Oxford Street, London
    8. Reading
    9. Romford
    10. York Clifton Moor
  • Sutton Surrey isn't on the list of unwanted stores! I can't believe it, do you mean to say that there are Allders stores worse than Sutton! A friend of mine got married recently and had all her gifts as Allders vouchers, she has £2,500 to spend - ouch! Another friend has ordered a carpet and apparently all their carpet comes through Carpetright now (must be cheaper to go direct!), and Carpetright refuse to supply, as they don't believe they will get paid by Allders - so, deposit to Allders is useless.
  • Friend from work was raving about the Chelmsford branch closing. She popped in last weekend and grabbed several rugs for her newly laminated house. Said there was lots of decent soft furnishings at cheap prices.

    Which bit's ouch?

Having £2,500 in wedding presents is scarcely something to complain about!

And I presume that they are still accepting vouchers at the moment - so all she has to do is spend the vouchers quickly.
  • Im quite near to ROMFORD and CHELMSFORD,is it worth going to these stores tomorrow.
