I really feel for you. I found it so hard when we did it last year, and I didn't have a baby to feed which must be hard when you are worrying if things are sterile.
Keep thinking it will be worth it by the end. Promise you. xx0 -
;)Thanks guys.
Kitchen bloke started uhmming and ahhhing about the date yesterday:mad:Oh I don't know, I'd vote for XH

Thanks, nothing is getting sterilized since we are nuking it in the d/w, but when that goes, we are back to sterilizing.
Pavlovs I might stick up some mid-way pics.

Oh dear, I made a boo boo
Tip 9. Avoid the classic error of designing an American Fridge Freezer into a corner as they need a minimum clearance of 300mm each side for the doors to open fully ...

Today I am going to try to be patient with...
stonemason, electrician, guy who fits register plates, joiners and the kitchen company (who BTW I'm naming and shaming if they don't sort it out). Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
Sounds like you need a lot of patience... Today I have been patient with:
the plasterer who is trying to find something that will allow him to plaster over the distemper he found when he stripped off the polyripple
The idiots who claim to be from the water company but are in fact contractors who tell me I have a water leak on my supply pipe. I don't. Given how much noise it makes when someone else has one, I'd know
The gardener/handyman who is running a week behind on the work I really want over and done with (having the utility room out of action at the same time as two upstairs rooms is making life a little chaotic)
So maybe I'll try to get some work done!0 -
Helloooo Lady Greenbee is lovely to see you.
Haven't been flying 'cos as soon as I clear up, the house is full of brick dust again.
Well done for being patient.
The born-again electrician was singing gospel, but he is now outnumbered by "heathens" so has stopped, the born-again stonemason has been out-Godded again.
How's things with O/XH?Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
I agree... No point in doing housework until it is all over. And then get someone in to deal with it while you go out
Things are going OK with OH, but he's making slow progress in sorting things out as his ex uses the kids as leverage. I think I'd better not say anymore about how sad that makes me...
I'm also fed up with being ill... I'm back in hospital next month to see whether the treatment has worked, and I'm hoping my ferritin levels will start to recover soon so I have the energy to do stuff myself instead of relying on other people.
Are you finding all this building work makes the house cold? It's freezing here with the spare room, landing, hall and utility room empty and most of the curtains down. Luckily the wood stove is keeping the living room warm!0 -

Great plan.

Horrible horrible horrible. Glad he got with the programme!

I didn't know you'd been in...ferritin? Are you anaemic? Hoping you do get well soon, are you managing to work?

Yes, we keep having to put the aga out (just relit it) and turn the power off.
We have also had three windows with no glass but boarded up at a time.
We have the weekend off, thank goodness. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
Glad you get the weekend off - I have the plasterer coming back on Sunday to make up time. Not sure whether to be pleased or not
I've been having treatment for complex hyperplasia with atypia. Two hysteroscopies in quick succession and progesterone treatment with provera. The anaemia may not be unrelated - I'm taking 600mg of iron a day and seem to be causing a national shortage of Ferasday! My dad has finally solved my supply problems (nowhere stocks more than 3 packs, which lasts me a week and half) by getting the dispensing practice that he used to work for to buy it in for me and sell it to him at cost!
I've managed to cope with work ok, although I did find the conference at the beginning of September hard work - I hadn't realised how bad my breathing still was! I'm getting better though, and even managed a decent walk when we were in Dublin this week
I hope all your work has some kind of deadline for completion!0 -
I had to look that up, it doesn't sound much fun. Not at all what you need at this time.
It's a bit wearing having people in your house, however nice. DH has just rung to say that instead of sacking the kitchen company, they are going to fit it in the agreed timescale - so should all be done by Christmas...Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0
