ok if i've interpreted the pictures and tennis court analogy correctly the shape above should look familiar even if the scale is a bit dodgy (don't think there'll be any architects fearing for their jobs)! :D

if the shape is correct, then I think door 3 is the laundry room whilst door 2 leads to the porch?

which would make door 1 the pantry and door 4 the scullery?

my brain hurts thinking about this!

assuming the above is correct, what view would you have if you opened up the wall with laundry room and porch - would a feature window/ french doors appeal or is the view not worthy of such a feature?

That was clever :T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T, 1=pantry 2= laundry 3=back porch 4=dining room, there is also a door to hall between coats and dining room door=door 5.

Scullery is behind chimney breast between fridge/freezer and your number 1, meets pantry but with a wall in the way.

The laundry window looks onto back yard and garage, not the best view but could be improved on - this would give a lot more light!!

eta v.excited to be Dr Who-ified!

Thanks for posting the pictures. Your kitchen is so cute and you have a clothes airer! I love the pantry too . All fabulous but yes a lot of wasted space.

The laundry room is little I would be tempted to knock through too. I think I need to come and see for myself..I'd love a good nosey around your house! :D
I can't be bothered updating this anymore
  • Thanks iris the house is largely unmodernised since the 20s apart from the few things we have done, and the airer will stay but move closer to the aga.

  • Well its all go on the marking front and trying to muck out the sitting room, despite the best efforts of puppy T. Mr S delivery yesterday but NSD today, I think.
Heard two bits of good news yesterday, one that a friend's husband has got a job, and also that some deeply unpleasant people in our village are SSTC. Yay!

yay for nasty people offing to somewhere else! Can they take my MIL with them?
  • They're taking theirs, so maybe you can offer them a job lot!!

Been running around like the proverbial-coloured-bottomed-fly and sitting room is looking good, baby is in his cot (53 min and counting!!). Some marking has been done and some washing.

Friend in US sent me a lovely gift - rather out of the blue - some giant muslins printed with pretty zoo animals which are for swaddling, but I think they would make really excellent sheets for the cot when its really hot.

  • DH found the hummus I had left out as it was dodgily past it's sell by date and ate it, wondered why he smelled of garlic. Hope he's ok.

Good to hear baby is settling in his cot for naps, makes such a difference when you want to get jobs done doesn't it. Hope DH is ok after his out of date snack!

  • Baby is back in there again, he really is easier than DD2 was. Not such a NSD today, got windows cleaned, first time in 4 years, £35. AF order, £40. And am about to spend £195 on a cast-your-bread-upon-the-waters gesture...madness? Probably. Not expecting anything back from it IYSWIM, just believe in random acts of kindness, in my very rare kind moments!!!

What have I achieved so far today? Walked dog, got the dw on, did some marking and some work emails (2!!), and did the AF order. Notalot really, we REALLY have to get rid of the superglam kitchen carpet, puppy has chewed it so much it now resembles the surface of the moon.

Thanks, Cath. DH is ok so far. When is baby T due?
