  • Ooh that's nice - but you'd need at least 2 of those for the fireplace, and you'd not really sit on it many times would you.
No! But it looks swish! Having MOM who rather enjoys shabby chic, I know how easy it is for stuff to become super lovely and expensive at the same time.

Slowly, not sure what to plan as professional seem to underestimate how well i cope with labour! My SPD is getting worse so that should help things along on the big day! Got midwife again on the 21st I think so might broach the homebirth idea with her again.

  • SPD sounds dreadful.

Did you look at the aims website/the homebirth link? I am afraid I am becoming a homebirth loony...I thought it was so good.

That was clever :T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T, 1=pantry 2= laundry 3=back porch 4=dining room, there is also a door to hall between coats and dining room door=door 5.

Scullery is behind chimney breast between fridge/freezer and your number 1, meets pantry but with a wall in the way.

The laundry window looks onto back yard and garage, not the best view but could be improved on - this would give a lot more light!!

you're between a rock and a hard place really aren't you, none of them are easy changes and none of them individually would make a significant difference to the amount and usability of space.

as the scullery is plumbed, could you have your laundry bits here thus freeing up the option of knocking through laundry room and back passage? without feeling the loss of storage in the scullery? Structurally I'd image this would involve a lot less work than removing the chimney breast, even if RSJs (steel lintels to hold up the house when you remove part of a load-bearing wall) were still required at the back of the house.

I'm not sure I'd bother knocking through the pantry into scullery - from what I can see you'd lose more in storage by removing the wall than you'd gain in space. That said, if you do your food prep in the scullery then I would be more inclined to say 'goodbye wall' :D It seems like a long way to walk away from the stove every time you realise you've forgotten an ingredient.

Finally caught up with DW. Twinklie my head is hurting trying to figure out the time line too, gave up in the end. I think this was hands down the best episode of the season so far, although I wouldn't necessarily classify it as a great episode in it's own right IYSWIM. The more I watch, the more i LOVE river. I wonder if she'll get a spin off show, there is a LOT of public affection for her and she's such a strong character. There's a gap in the market now that Sarah Jane is sadly no longer with us. That said, I think River would be wasted on the kids, she has some fantastic one liners and I bet she's a game old bird :D

GFH - can't decide with you are incredibly brave or positively loopy for taking on not one but two sets of marking on top of juggling the baby :T
