  • Its exciting to think about moving. I don't think we will move, ever. Unless we do a "grand design" in our field.

Well this would be our "intermediate house". Then after that I hope we'd be able to move to our proper "family home" house. The next one would be big enough to start a family, but not in the right location for where we want to end up if that makes sense...

We shall see though. DH will be 42 this year and keeps having people chatting in his ear about how old he is etc and how it's going to be his life over once he has them now...he's left it too long etc. I'm getting really annoyed with it and wish people would butt out. He's telling people we are going to try when he's 44. I'll be 32, neither of us were grown up enough emotionally to have kids until the last two or three years anyway, and now it's circumstance stopping us.

Make your own decisions about kids, you and DH, and tell everybody else to get lost. It's your life.

I'm not above giving an opinion if people ASK for it - post on here saying "I want kids shall I have them now or leave them until later?" or whatever. But nobody should be giving unsolicited advice about when to have kids to anybody, ever.

Thanks Lois_E. I think his friends that are advising him forget he is hyperactive and hardly sleeps (drives me nuts) he's got more energy than anyone I've ever met. It might slow him down a bit...he needs it though. LOL. Not to mention - you have kids in your 40s, you are still young enough to see them grow up (assuming other things don't get you - but that can happen at any age). Bah....I'm just grumpy.

Men often have the weirdest attitude to kids. They'll admit how much they love them to the women in their lives, but never to their mates! When they get together, they end up in these macho discussions about how awful their life is since they've had kids, and the ones who haven't had kids actually believe them! It drives me mad!!!

I wish they would just be honest amongst themselves - that kids are tough, yes, but worth it!

DH says he wants kids and doesn't care...hope he sticks to it.

Also, just seen the advert for next weeks Dr Who. I'm excited beyond belief and I probably won't even get to see it until I get back on Sunday night. I'm soooooooo upset.

Totally agree, DH was 44 when our first child was born and I was 36. There are advantages and disadvantages to being older/younger parents.

  • They just split the series in two. Did I mention I saw Karen Gillan at services a while back?
