Got a snooze in yesterday, going to try to do jobs later. Got £10 off Mr T online by just ordering in DH's name. Fuel budget is going well this month, only £50 so far.

The days like that with 2 of them screaming at you get less frequent as they get bigger thankfully.

    You still sound manic busy.

...and then they turn into teenagers and it really starts :)

    The joys of parenthood

:rotfl:you are coping with more than me, think this is all i can cope with!

i have been thinking, i want us to be more hospitable.

when it was just us and dd1 it was socials every weekend, but with

    moving to a bigger mortgage
    three pregnancies
    changing job
SIL being a pain in the derriere

we have closed this right down. i would like to arrange baby's baptism, but last time SIL and her family were asked for coffee and stayed three hours when i had 4 house guests i needed to cook for, then stayed for hours after all the other guests had gone after baptism. her son wiped food up the arm of cream sofa (he was 15) and so on.

i know it probably sounds extreme, but i would like to arrange it but only if i dont have to put up with this.

also there is the budgeting question...

It's not extreme at all. That's why we as a family have been very anti social the last few years. We simply don't have the time ( or money ) for people. It's hard enough juggling with family life as it is.

Why should you have to put up with SIL staying, sometimes you have to make things clear to people.

not just us then?? thanks iris.

she would be bearable if she didn't make comments about the children's genetic heritage all the time - dd1 is dh's step child - and expect everyone to ask how high? when she says jump.

Oh now that would wind me up!

Step children or not they are all part of one family. Why does it need to be mentioned at all? She sounds like a nutter. Unfortunately there's one in every family.
